Hi guys, Just now i found a couple of emails in my inbox stating my password has been reset for several accounts.Only 2 minutes after i receive a notice that my account has been suspended for 72h due to abuse of the economy. Is this some method blizzard uses, change your password and then suspend for 72 hours. They were all leveling characters, not using AH; just vendoring the trash. Wasnt even grinding, used quest 1-60 from Kaz. Is this something to worry about or is this normal procedure? Also, how worried should i be if i started botting these accounts again after the suspension?
You know i get these emails like alot and everytime i click on them its like they are fishher websites so i ignore them... and just reset my password through the website
No this one was legit and is actually from Blizzard, my password has in fact been reset. It's not like i filled in the form and THEN got the message that i was banned, i got them both at about the same time.
Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized ***** Programs ("Hacks") This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized ***** program, also known as a "hack.". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game. ^just received that roughly 10 minutes ago, before that was a password reset -_-......I've been told if you reply with an angry e-mail about getting getting suspended they'll remove it because they can't actually prove your using a 3rd party program
I just got one of these a few hours ago. I also had this 2weeks ago and I just sent them an email saying I didn't use hacks. They unsuspended me within 12 hours.
Seems to be a new tactic then. I think they're doing this in the hopes of you losing the registration details of an account (first / last name / secret ). Since you need those for a password reset you won't be able to recover your account. Meanwhile if they accidently ban a regular user they will just send an email and be back online within 12 hours, Blizzard can even blame "hackers" and get away with it. I've lost one account (was still around level 50 luckely) due to this, forgot to write down the first / last name.
While we're on the subject, you guys wouldnt happen to know how to recover an accounts first / last name without having the password right?
Same thing happened to me.Got a password reset email , then 5 minutes later, my account was banned. Sent them an email basically asking wtf and they unbanned me within 2 hours.
Same happened to me last night. I got a password Reset then right after I changed my password and entered a new one I got this. Funny thing is I wasn't even using HB when I got kicked off. I was in stormwind sending my new char some gold. Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.
