My partner and I use 2 separate computers (from our main PC's, same ISP though) to run hb/gb. I level over night with my mage, and run archeology/leveling during the day, while my second account on a second computer runs GB. My accounts (Knock on wood.) Have not yet been touched. Meanwhile he runs nothing on his main account, yet on his second account (originally my third account, but I gave it to him for this purpose) he gb2's a mage in Uldum. Today he was leveling his DK in Nagrand, and no exaggeration what so ever, he never AFK bots. I find it funny I've been botting for 4 years and have dodged every ban wave yet, and he does it for less than 6 months and has an account under 72 hour suspension. Here is the email I received under my separate email address. Code: English speaking customers: Please refer to the start of this mail Para los clientes espa?oles: Por favor vayan hasta el fin de este email Account Name: *removed* Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized ***** Programs ("Hacks") This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized ***** program, also known as a "hack.". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game. Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment. We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment: Blizzard Legal Documentation. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure. For any disputes of this action or further information on Exploitive Activity, please visit the Exploitative Activity FAQ and contact page here: Blizzard Support Regards, Customer Services Blizzard Entertainment World of Warcraft Here are my questions. A.) Should I lay low for a while? B.) There are quite a few of these popping up, do "permanent bans" usually come from suspensions? (What I mean is, does blizzard suspend and then perm ban, or is there a chance we'll get the account back in 72 hours.) C.) If a nickle rolls down a hill with a cannoe on it's back and one wheel falls off, how many pancakes can you fit into king-tuts dog house?
http://www.thebuddyforum.com/ban-se...password-reset-then-72-hour-ban-new-post.html Seems to be a new trick up blizzards sleave
I was hit with that very 72 hour suspension, I tried to log in and it failed I figured I was hacked. So I reset my password and then come to find out hit with 72 hour. I only use HB/GB and I never bot unattended. This happened a few hours ago
+1 for me. exactly the same thing, it happened about 8 hours ago. i keep a close eye on the bot about 90% of the time. lol it's funny, they say in their support FAQ that if you get a password reset e-mail you didn't initiate then your account got hacked. now they are the ones resetting our password. WTF? - my game has been crashing a lot with v4354 - i don't sell gold - i barely use the AH - quest bot (LowHangingFruitAFK 10-60 profile) and instance buddy only (no gathering) in fact, my gathering account did not even get a suspension - my toon sometimes does stupid things like spinning in circles or otherwise moving erratically and it's obvious UPDATE: against the advice of some on the forum, i e-mailed them and asked them to reconsider the ban and denied any wrongdoing. i did it because THAT is what an innocent person would do. they undid the 72 hour suspension. i wouldn't expect them to do it a second time though, so I need to figure out how I got caught.
Did everyone in this thread use Questbot? If so, what profile? I myself used Kickazzz's 1-60 profile and got the suspension on 3 accounts running this setup. You're right though, none of my farmers got hit; just the three new characters.
