I have just read Patch Notes to 4.1 (from mmo-champion.com) and found this: Jewelcrafting Bold Carnelian, Solid Zephyrite, Subtle Alicite, Perfect Quick Alicite, Sovereign Nightstone, Regal Jasper, Resolute Hessonite, and any cut of uncommon gem now sells to NPC for 75 silver instead of 9 gold. Damn! That's absolutely terrible.
Lets hope the price of raw gems will remain the same. Lets also hope the price of cut gems will remain the same(this is datamined, not a blue post yet). Still if that change goes into effect the raw gem prices will set the hard floor for both elementium and obsidium. PS: It ain't over till the fat lady sings...or fat WoW patches in this case.
Might be even possible to make more gold out of your elementium and obsidium. Their prices are now bound to the cost of uncut gems. If the 36g minimum fades because the cut gem prices drops, prices of the ores might sky rocket. so for me its still a win/win situation.
so you will prospect ore and sell cutted green gems for 75 silver to vendor I think only crazy man will act like that It's killing making easy gold from JC, in that way Blizz are killing it.
I remember when TBC came out and i made about 35k without any bot or anything just from JC but then they started changing everything, I get the impression that blizzard hate certain people/professions controlling the ecomomy of a server.
No, my server is booming and all green cata gem's are selling between 250-350g a stack (uncut) and so easy to push out, i dont see no point in vendoring the gem's unless my economy is trashed then that's when ill take my leave and move to a different server untill some new moron destroy's that economy. Ye, it's easy making a killing from JC but easy to ruin yourself since prospecting all your ore and posting all your gem's will cripple you with the post price, BUT with blizzard lowering the the price of green gem's it will lower the AH post price so alot of people will flood the AH with them mat's and bring the uncut gem's too a all time low.
Uh, wheres the logic in that? Its more likely to become 20g minimum if price of raw gems wont change.
I believe the guy wanted to say that nowadays both elementium and obsidium cost 36g/stack at least on the AH, because if you prospect them, you will get a minimum of 4 green gems (in most cases more than 4) which you can cut and sell to a vendor for 36g. With the cut gem's price going to 75 silvers the bottom floor for ore will also drop. There is no logic in it skyrocketing anymore. This was the bottom line and in case the change actually takes place on live servers expect the price to drop and there is no "if" about it.
Well, let's say the price of ore goes down. I make most of my money on my miner from volatiles anyway, will the price of gold go up?
I see nothing but a decrease in ore prices here, mat's going down anyway, everything will be WOTLK price soon and the way the gold market is = fucked
I have not even known that I could sell them to npc for 9 gold. I always sell them for 100 in AH cheers, ps: Best way to make money is still the scriber ..........
Yea most likely tomorrow. New thing for jc's which some people already do is make rings/necks and de them. But time will tell.
I don't know how much you guys are prospecting but there is no way any server has a big enough market for uncut gems, enchant scrolls and enchants mats in the volume a botter would farm. The bottom line is that currently the cut and vendored value of a stack of ore is 54g, this change will see that value go down to 30g. Blizz isnt really killing JC'ing, if anything they are making mining less lucrative so I expect ore prices to fall. Some ore farmers will move out of the market and go elsewhere, maybe volatiles and leather farming. Wherever the gold per hour is greatest after the change and of course taking in the ban risk of that new activity into account.
So my jewelcrafter is a n00b and can only cut the 9g gems... so what recipie should we get to D/E the jewelry cuts? Where is it...?
