So I got a fresh vanilla account perma banned today for "Abuse of the Economy". I was not using gatherbuddy or honorbuddy on this account. This was my AH mule and the farmers mailed all the loot to this account. I had the account for about 3-4 days before it was perma banned. I am trying to figure out how it got banned though. Most people on this forum believe that blizzard does not ban from the AH. I didn't sell crazy amounts at one time, maybe 20 stacks of something once a day. I also COD'd some stuff out. I did not sell any gold on this account. Anyone have any ideas?

Odd, i had dual accounts both legit never botted... Using nothing but regular AH mods you get from curse and using a toon that knew all glyphs and most JC recipies, i would send all glyphs and gems to the lvl 1 account and he did nothing but stand there and scan, cancel, repost. I made half a million in 3 months.

And they never once even gave me a warning. Of course, one night i figgured i had enough and sold it all for fast money.. THEN the account was banned in approx 6 hours.

I would contest the account closure if i were you.

      /edit

BTW, you ever tried to sell half a million gold really fast? That was a pain trying to find buyers to take it all..

This is the problem, you should always mail to a bank alt on same account then put into Guild Bank for 3rd part account to pickup and sell.

If you dont mind Blizzard knowing that all these accounts are yours you will easily get it overturned by letting them know that you own all the accounts, that way you are not being looked as RMT.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. TBC account, 6 servers occupied with AH toons, all level 2 max. 1.8mio gold across those 6 servers. No gold sold whatsoever yet. The money that should've come for this is all I have this month. I've reversed bans plenty of times before and have always been lucky. Not this time. They explicitly claimed I had sold ingame currency which simply isn't the case. I'm gonna see a lawyer next week and see if we can get the ban reversed. This is most devastating to me, since I won't have any cash for over the next month. Got a daughter, am studying medicine, won't even have cash for rent. God I hate blizzard. As much as it might seem right to ban potential gold seller accounts, it just isn't legit. :(

edit: Account existed for 2.5 weeks.

Dont mean to be rude, but you have bigger issues than a game if you spent all your money on it.

Oh blessed are the ignorant. I repeat, "I have a daughter and am studying medicine", do you really think I'm spending a single dime on this thing, wait why even think I'd be playing this f***ing timesink lol? I can only pity you for assuming such an absurd explanation for the high number of accounts in my possession (insert lol here) especially if I mention 2 million gold. Sigh. See, that's why leeches like me are around in this game. 90% of players are (I quote an unknown forum poster) "dumber than the chair they are sitting on". Bless you.

Edit: Needless to say I have actually played for almost 2 years and as much as I thought I was enjoying it, looking at the /played of that account brings feelings of regret for all the lost time. And if it wasn't clear enough already, earning money with wow means minimal time investment for a nice pay that I as a student don't even have to pay any taxes on. It's pretty much free money meaning more time spent on daughter and more leftover time for uni.

edit2: didnt mean to be rude either ;P

How do you even get close to making enough money from wow gold to pay for rent? I can't imagine it paying for more than a mcdonalds meal atm with that many gold sellers out there. I have over 1.1 mil and i think i've sold all of 10k to a mate....

Well I do get 780€ from the gouvernment as well. But while I'm not there yet, it should still be possible to make 1-2k Euros per month with gold selling, spending relatively little time on it and focussing on other things. It has become tough though, I totally agree.

I did. The mats in posession of the toons on the banned account were in possession of converted mats. They actually went through two cycles of processing, one cycle on the banned account, one on an intermediate account. THe other accounts stayed untouched, but still the one with the finished products got banned. :/ I was gonna see a lawyer, but my initiative leaves a lot to be desired. Plus I'd feel like a major moron telling the lawyer how my 20 Euro BC account got banned lol. It's hard to argue about the actual value when selling gold is a legal grey area (in my country it is just that: grey, not black!)

The fact your relying on this for you income is just moronic, its pretty obvious that its gonna cause problems somewere down the line, sort your finances out via legit means then top it up with this..

The fact that you assume I'm solely relying on this is moronic, you moronic moron you! ;P Seriously, why always get so personal? ;) The elusive quality of this way of earning money is apparent to me. Don't mind my comment about not being able to pay rent, I can ofc pay rent, but will have a much tighter budget for the rest of the month. I see getting a job as a very last resort when all else fails, because I absolutely despise working my ass off for someone else, even moreso when the subject of my work is not in the least congruent with my interests. Needless to say I've never had trouble finding a job at all and can get one within days of this thing blowing over. Now, while the gold selling is a job in itself you could say and isn't coming without any obligations at all either, it at least let's me improve my programming skills which will come in handy in the future.

Glad we could discuss my financial situation on the internet, I hope you can to some degree feel where I'm coming from now. That being said, I have been working out many many new ways of getting those 1-2mio per month already, ways that are both less risky and require a smaller financial investment. They do eat up more time though, but as long as the alternative is a crappy 10€/h job, I'll stick to it.
