hi, just thought it would be useful to start a thread here with bugs we are experiencing with strands of the ancients - since it is the call to arms weekend for this particular battleground this weekend. two things ive noticed thus far: 1. when you port in to the fresh game as attacker, the bot doesnt detect that you are on the boat and tries to run into the deck, thus hitting a wall, and keeps doing so until the ship is at the dock. in the beginning this behavior can seem very bot like and become suspicious amongst players. this problem is fine if you port in to the fresh game as defender, as when you get to the second part of the game, in which you switch to attack, the bot actually accurately detects that you are on a ship and does not command any movements until the ship is at the docks. 2. sometimes at the gates it will run in very little circles in front of the gate, as if it is unsure if the gate is open to pass. and it will keep doing it for a good 15-20seconds before another player passes it or the bot finally decides to "cross over". can also seem very bot like behavior. is anyone else experiencing these things? if someone knows a solution feel free to share too! also, if you are experiencing other bugs for this particular battleground, feel free to post here. I think mods and devs would find it extremely helpful to have all the problems gathered in one spot! if devs and mods need my help for any testing please dont hesitate to ask.
Recognized the same problems as you. Also as DEFENDER the character stands still until the battle begins. All other alliances rush onto the front. Seems very bottish =(
1. Never gets off the boat. Just stands mounted on stairs. 2. Doesn't target anything in SoTA. Unusable for me currently.
SotA isn't useless, it just requires a lot of babysitting. Not a BG I'd ever AFK in because of the bugs in it. OT: I have noticed that on the Defending side at the start of the round, the bot will run to either the Yellow Gate, or one of the two Gates right infront of Yellow and chill there until the round starts. As well as the bugs already mentioned above, I'd love to post a log to assist devs, but I currently don't have one for SotA as I haven't played it in weeks.
I've noticed on offense that sometimes it will try to path to the yellow gate only since it cant get there it ends up waiting by the graveyard at the waterfall. Very obvious looking.
Just use PVP bot for now, it moves very bottish but i left it for a couple of hours with no problems.
why is sota "green" in the bot options if it doesnt even work? it runs off the boat at the beginning of each BG.. yep, thats not botlike at all.
Because when people see it marked "green" and the bot is called honorbuddy they expect it to work. The Bg's have been in beta for way too long that I want to poke my eyes out with a fork. IMO the dev's should really look into this and FIX it. I don't want to use a bot I have to babysit becuse then the whole point is gone. Also, the below makes absolutely no sense to me.
i'm using it ( "PVP" not "BG Beta" ) since friday and it just works without problems, ok the bot chooses the wrong seal, but thats all. i've noticed that it mostly depends on the CC you choose, with the newest singular i dont see that much bugs at all, the chars moves, kills and does not act like a bot.
Movement over the broken gates is still retarded and it's been broken since forever and there still isnt a fix for it.
