Sincerely, Game Master Aycael Customer Services Blizzard Entertainment Blizzard Support ------------------- Still no idea why I was originally banned. Never got an email! Do you think it's because I bot? lol..
This is not unusual. I have responded to ban or suspension emails twice in the past and have both times had them reversed. Based on the number of hours you say you were running HB/GB, I'd say that was the trigger. The only times I have had account actions in the past has been when I was botting for 12-16 hours in a day without a logout. My "personal" opinion is that this triggers an automatic review or suspension. You are assumed guilty until proven innocent. My guess is they think its a farming or leveling service and just suspend or ban you. If you respond back to them via email from the registered email address on the account, you are likely to get the ban reversed.
can you post the email you sent please? I am very curious what tone you use and what you use as arguments. It think it's awsome you got your accounts back and we can all learn something from this.
Well, to give you one example: I was running my lvl 69 hunter on a grind profile in Netherstorm. After about 12 hours (while I was watching the account, btw) I got randomly disconnected. I attempted to log in and the password no longer worked. I checked the email account and received the dreaded password reset email. I reset my password and then got a 72 hour suspension email. This email stated that I was using "hacks/*****s" to do things like teleport or run at high speeds. I immediately responded to the email with a tone of "confusion" as if I didn't know what had just happened. I said I had never used *****s or hacks and certainly had done none of the things in the email they sent me. I told them I was grinding out my level to hit 70 and then I was suddenly disconnected and suspended. I asked them nicely to please remove this suspension. A few hours later I got a canned email response stating that my account access had been restored and that the action was lifted. I would be interested to see other botters who get hit by the banhammer try this if they don't already. I really think that responding to their suspension emails from the registered email within a short time frame of being banned definitely helps.
I don't want to post the exact email but.. things to point out: - Don't admit any wrongdoing.. - If your account is over a few years old, mention that (mine was 3 years) - I acted confused as to why it happened.. I suggested I had recently lost my job so I had admittedly been playing an "embarassing number of hours". - I said that as an active sales person I had made a few enemies (which is true) who would readily report me just to try and get rid of me. - I said I was frustrated because I enjoy the game very much and my guild was expecting me to be on for a weekly run tonight - I asked for help and said "Thank you"
