      Good morning my good people!

I've started botting 3 weeks ago, and so far so good. Never had any problems other than some random disconnects here and there.

I've been using a second account to bot, mostly farming mats and trasnfering it to my main account.

Mind you, I've read and re-read everything in these forums.

My question is, I'm really really tempted to star botting on my main account (a 2005 account that has never had its subscription cancelled, has several race / factions changes, has 5 85s, several 80+ on different serves, all hand leveled).

Many people say, if you can't afford to lose the account, don't bot on it, but i've also read countless success stories, so my question is, should I start botting on my main account?

Mostly level my 80s through Archaeology, and maxing it on my 85s.

I don't plan on grinding or farming on it ...

So what do you guys think?

I'd be devasted if I lost that account ... but I've been leveling toons and professions, farming mats and everything on my second account, and it's what keeps me playing the game ...

Like someones signature says on these forums, botting is for the strong minded ...

Should I start botting on my main account ?

Id never AFK while on it, id babysit its every step ...

      Thanks in advance!

My main account is from Dec 2004 and I was hesitant at first. I started only PvP botting with it, which led to rep grinding, then professions, then AB, now questing.

Never been banned. To me it was worth it.

      I don't see why not.

Remember this is ONLY a GAME!

Nothing can not be replaced if banned (Minus a few items)

Ive been botting on my main account for a good while now, i AFK quest bot while leveling ALTS on diff relms.

But if you would go all emo if your account DID get banned, then don't. it's really that simple

I think you have answered your own question.
If you lost your 2005 account, you would be losing your reason to bot on your other account, too.

I have botted my main, and got away with it just fine. I think it's important to consider how you will feel in a few months if you DID get banned.
I think I would be slightly regretful, but I'm not all that bothered. How about you?

Thanks for all the input guys.

Like I said, I only keep playing the game cause I'm botting. I havent raided at all in Cataclysm, all my friends left/quit ...

But I have so much time invested in my account ... Between all my "main" toons I have around 550 days /played ... I would hate to lose it, but its all pixels after all ...

Another question, in a scale of 1-10 how dangerous is to bot Archaeology compared to questing profiles / BGs / Gathering?

Thank you all for the replies.

The only advice I can give is:

If you want to bot on any account, you have to realize there is a chance of getting banned. Theres always a chance. I myself, have never gotten banned and I've been botting on my main for 2 years now.

Just bot smart and don't be stupid when AH'ing and what not.

If you will be devastated if you lost your main account, then maybe you shouldn't bot on it. You probably WONT get banned if you are smart. But theres always a chance. Just remember that.

sure i always bot on my account but never ever grind on it, its the most dangerous form of botting, always do quest profiles ts faster and safer

I say: bot it away. But if you want to minimize risks of being banned, use only the "safe" forms of botting:

      PVP: Unsafe (even babysit)
      GATHER: Unsafe (even babysit)
      ARCH: SAFE
      Quest: SAFE with babysit
      Instancebuddy: SAFE with babysit
Grind: ONLY SAFE if it is a reputation mob. You can always tell bliz that you was grinding to farm reputation. For exemple: you can level a lvl 60ish toon killing bog giants at zangarmarsh (as they give reputation to sporegar), or level a level 67ish toon killing the arakkoa from the high lakes near shatt (a rep mob too), or level a level 50ish toon killing those guys that give winterspring bears reputation... a "safe" grind levelling would be, then:

      30ish: Bloodsail bucanners mobs
      50ish: Felwood rep mobs
      60ish: Zangarmarsh bog giants
      64ish: Nagrand ogres
67ish: Arakkoa near shatt high lakes

All those mobs are commonly farmed and grinded by hand-played toons, and blizz probably won't ban you for grinding them. And if they do so, its an easy defense to say you was just hand-grnided them for reputation...

Questing isnt 100% safe, I've leveled 4 new toons, and 3 of them got nailed at the same point in the questing profile, and the 4th one was 2 levels behind so he was fine.. all on different diff servers. I'm using a new questing profile and its going good now but you never know.

I've been botting on my main account for 2 years now without any warnings/suspensions/bans etc. What i think gets Blizzards attention is using a farming account to bot on and sending over mass amounts of materials to your main account that you don't bot on. If you keep things within the account, in my opinion, looks less weird because that's what i've been doing and i haven't ever talked to a GM for botting.

Hello, Ive been botting since the first year of wow, started with glider. havent gotten a ban yet, i can tell you that during vanilla, i grinded. and that was the only way to level with bots. with honorbuddy ive almost always, quest leveled, until 60. then i hand level it to 70, since it goes very fast in outland, except a few times, wich ive had the bot grind for maghar rep.

from 70-80 i used to do myself to, then i started to quest bot it, and now i level it with archaeology in Eastern kingdoms, people say its very buggy there, but get Stuckhelper plugin, and blacklist aeri peaks, ironbands excavation site.
With 280% flight speed, from level 70 i pull in 250-300k exp an hour, i afk this. with tauren, it sometimes stuck on the spring thingy in southern stv. but no problems with anything else, If youre so unlucky that youve just hand done the two blacklisted ones, and a few hours after theyre both up again. you will fall to about 200k exp an hour, just flying around doing two digsites.

But it will still give you more then Kalimdor. here you can only get two spots that are blacklisted, in kalimdor, theres 5 spots that realy needs to be blacklisted. often falled down to about 100k exp an hour. wich is 1/3 of what i usually get in EK, if youre lucky in kalimdor, you can do about 200k for a litle while, but i wouldnt count on it.

and i guess you understand what that means, very unlucky, and all 4 spots are the blacklisted ones, what happens often, is 3 of them blacklisted.

people say you shouldnt AB past 375, but you can take it to 450, you need to learn the last uppgrade, for the digsites in uldum, hyjal and twilight highlands to appear.

i hand sit everything, except Archaeology buddy, with shamwow i even handsit pvp, in AB, Wsg and Av, but not afk. with any other class, id say you can use lazyrider, in pvp, run around yourself, watch Anime, a Tv show or a movie, and just run around and it does what requires attention. works best with something ranged ofcourse.

well, dont mind my english, been up all night farming netherwing eggs, need 30 more eggs after just 12 hours of farming. (Thank you Kick)

Edit: yes, from 80-84 i use Kickz neutral hyjal, deepholm and uldum guides, and i use the twilight highlands quest profile by JWlionking for the last part.

I agree with most of these posts. I do however, bot PvP on my main account. I have for several years stretching back to Glider.
BUT! I would recommend Buddycenter. It allows you to reply to whispers while being at the movie, work, whatever. It as well notifies you on a whisper.
This plugin has other valuable features that I won't go into. As stated I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it if you are going to bot on your main account.

As soon as you said you would be devastated if you lost the account then that's your answer. No.

To me you are getting greedy because botting is easy. So my answer is no.
Take a few minutes and imagine what you would do when the message "Your account has been banned" appears when you try to login.
Send an email to GM etc. then they answer no, that it is perma ban. You would have your farming useless account left and that's all, you will then try to farm and sell gold to buy a new acount, this time you won't bot on it, but it will still not be the same, you will not have leveled to 60 or 70 with your first char, waiting for the installation of BC to play, farming by hand to have the epic flyring mount.

That's what happened to me, I stopped playing WoW because of that.
