Whats the best way to make gold in this economy?

I usually make gold through skinning and making leg armors but im curious to hear what yours are in this horrible economy that most realms are experiencing. Im pretty sure im necroing but i cant seem to find the other threads.

I 'm farming herbs and sell huge amounts for great prices!
People on my server know me by now and i got some people who buy weekly from me.
Its usually 2/3 g less then the average stack price on AH.

 

So you just sell the herbs?
You dont make it into anything first?
How many accounts do you have who herb at the same time?

 

I do lots of mining. I have 2 out of 7 account that do herbing, and 5 out of 7 that do mining/engineering for the volatile airs. I only do mining/engineering to minimize my time at the auction house and mailbox and going back and forth, because it seems like with my mining/herb accounts I spend a lot of time putting expired auctions back up, with only a pretty minimal advantage over engineering/mining. Cinderbloom and Whiptail prices are also in the shitter on those two realms, so that may just be a factor :l

I think everyone's seen this same thread a thousand times already and therefore really doesn't care anymore. It's probably the most used subject line on the forums.
In the end it's all about what server you're on. I bot on 2 separate servers; one of them has a crappy economy where the best way to make money is to buy ore off the AH at 20G per stack and make it into gems, then vendor them. The other server has a good raw-materials market where both raw ore and raw herbs go for 40G+ per stack.

There is no definitive answer to this question. And that realisation has been the result of all the threads that ask this question. Hence you will not get many responses to this question.

 

im always taking skinning+mining. while i level, drop mining at 70. and skinning after reaching 85.

 

I learned every glyph and JC pattern there is, worked good for me. Actually takes a little more effort than turning on GB and going to bed though..

 

I mine/herb.

I sell about 50% of my ore as raw materials.
I smelt about 25% of my ore into bars and sell the bars.
I prospect about 25% of my ore into gems.
I sell all the uncut green gems on the AH.
I cut about 50% of the blue gems and sell them on the AH.
I sell the remaining uncut blue gems on the AH.
I sell about 30% of my herbs as raw materials.
I make flasks from around 30% of my herbs.
I mill and make ink out of the remaining 40% of herbs.
From that, I take about 70% of my inks and make glyphs, darkmoon cards, and fortune cards and sell on the AH.
The remaining 30% of my inks I sell on the AH.

Herb and Ore prices have been on the rise on my server post 4.2.

 

There is one formula that no one has yet to mention. It takes a miner, BS and a enchanter for DE. Have fun. I have over 400k from this technique alone.

 

Just made a fairly large sale, looks like the prices are going back up finally.

 

I have been farming gold for about a year now and i was doing 80-140k per week with 8 accounts, but i was selling herbs/minning/volatiles without cutting or doing inks, just sell to people in bulk, but i know there are more ways to make some profit because then why people buy the herbs/ore/volatiles ? to keep them? i dont think so there are a few ways that you can make more gold, but im to lazy to put something trying to figuring out, so if anyone mind to explain what they do and if the profit is good enought and worth the time to do it. Thanks.

what is it that you're making? are you just selling the enchanting mats?

 

80-140k is pretty low with 8 accounts. 2 months ago each account for me was pulling in at least 100k a week (moer like 150-200k with 20/7). You must be very conservative with your hours played on your bots? I can still do 12 hours a day and get 100k a week per account.

 

Farming herbs and mining is a best choice, because everyone need it)

 

Or your server economy is screwed and you make jack shit My server most cata herbs are 15-20g a stack, no more, very little return for the time spent. Darkmoon cards have no buyers now, each individual card is going for a 1/4 of what it was before 4.2.

Thinking to going back to grind pets.

Aint that the truth! Just started on a different server only to find Cinderbloom is less than 10g per stack, Whiptail about 15 and that's as good as it gets, completely messed up. I feel a transfer and a change of strategy coming on!
