I have been giving a lot of thought lately to what I would do if my main account were banned. I would not have to worry about access to any gold, it is all kept, minus a few hundred here and there, in one of two guild banks my friend and I share. My friend and I both bot, but he is away for long periods of time, so I usually run his account to bot on also. And seeing as how they have just made refer-a-friend super awesome, if i get banned, well meh so what.

This leads me to the point of my post, those of you who bot on your main account only. You should consider getting another copy of WoW and BC, and making at least a level one character and giving it guildmaster in your gold guild. Also put a low level character from your main account in that guild, giving it the ability to withdraw massive amounts of gold as need be. Now that your main account has access to the gold in your alt guild bank, and all the materials, you can let the second account expire.

Now imagine the ban hammer hits you. Well since you have all your goodies in a guild bank that has a clean account attached to it, it's swing won't be so bad.

My only concern with that is Blizzard sometimes bans multiple accounts that are related and used by the same user. Ask lostsk8r about that, lol.

I would agree, however it is worth noting that in most cases, they ban accounts that were botted on. So if the second account is not even active, the level of detection is much lower.

I honestly cant believe that you havent done that already, since its quite obvious thing to do. Thats the way I've done it (and some other people I know) for the past 10 months or so. After all you do need to have some sort of security measures and be ready for anything.

I have always done it. I was just thinking about this when Impala was banned last night, and it occurred to me that others might not have thought of this.
