Thanks for deciding to fight it (at great expense no doubt) instead of closing shop, I appreciate that as a customer. Let us know if there is anything we can do!
Good luck with this guys, worse case just Ctrl+h honorbuddy to a different name and start something new heh xD
Thank you Bossland and the other Dev for going to bat for us with this matter. I wonder how they are going to fight this. I do not believe you are using wow in the name that's how they got glider. I wonder if they are trying to get you because you charge for it.
You guys are outrageously brave to fight the power house that is blizzard. But I know, and the community knows, that you can beat them in court. The new system isn't as great as the old system, but for us cheap sakes who didn't buy Lifetime, now have flying for free, and for that I say Thank you. I will continue to provide support for you guys as I always have by referring people to the best bot on the market.
Asking this as a precaution Should blizzard be sucessful they may request a list of users, if a user here is using the same email address as their b.net account then they could tie to two together and ban the account. Therefore could i confirm if it is sufficient to edit the email address in the settings part of the forum to avoid that or would it still be on record elsewhere
I'm pretty sure Blizzard wont be able to access the Honorbuddy/gatherbuddy database of client information due to legal reasons. I'm guessing if they won in the courts that all the data would be terminated. Not shared
When they shut down HB i wouldnt play anymore =) Greetings form germany and gl fighting goliath, i guess the law is on your side.
I would think in Germany there is a reasonable right to privacy and I'm sure Blizzard would care less who has subscribed to this service, they either want a cut of the profits or the business to fold under. Kinda puts a damper on my day though. Was hoping Swtor would be out by now so I wouldnt have to watch HB play my wow cuz i hate it so much lol
Hopefully, German law will be on your side guys. Good luck with the trial. As said above, if Blizz wins, they'll actually lose.
They'll lose some customers but they'll retain the hardcore RPG'ists Well, well, looks like just in time to switch to that new forthcoming Star Wars MMO... (Which looks like WoW re-skinned with Star Wars Characters) :-D
First of all, good luck in the process.. It's gonne be a long but also tough fight. Besides that I would also like to know if the law in Germany has privacy protection just as we do in the netherlands. If that's the case im totally fine with everything. Else I would like to have some information removed from the system in order to stay anonymous.
This is probably a bit of an early question... But how do you guys think you'll do against blizz? I mean do you think it's gunna be a bit of a mmoglider when you have to stop offering the service or...?
In germany there is a good privacy protection. And they first have to start a lawsuit against a botter (and win it ...) to get the data from bossland. The good thing is that german courtes sometime take AGES. And if one of them loose they could go higher and higher in the system and every time its starts over again. But Blizz has choosen one of the less courts where the judges seem to have a little bit of pc experience (some of the copyright lawsuits have been at the Hamburg court)
