I dont understand how you guys are getting banned.... I have been botting my main account for 5 years and the only ban i got was from a goldseller getting access to my account....

I was banned for abuse of eco aswell lost 2 account, one with 130k gold. Scared.

they probably dumped shitloads of mats into the AH and got reported by people.

 

Here's the thing....you sell gold, you get banned. Make a thread asking if anyone who has never FARMED nor SOLD GOLD that has been banned lately? I haven't. But I bot carefully and casually.

 

Here's the thing. One look at the ban section of the forum says something is going on.

So far from the threads I've read, some folks that bot casually ( quest botting and grinding) have been banned, folks that sell big on the AH has been banned, folks that have sold gold have been banned. The bans range between 72hr bans to perma bans.

1. Blizz files suit against honorbuddy July 11th 2011. Well that's when we HB users read about it here on the forums..
2. After suit, it seems more are being banned.
3. 29 posts in 11 days since suit was filed, conversely in the same 11 days previous of suit filed, there are only 11 posts. One has to go back in the forum almost two months to count 29 bans posted.
4. No one is or has suggested it's warden at the root and it's probably not.

Now wouldn't it make pretty good sense that the bosses above all the GMs put the word out to their GM employees, to be more aware and more diligent in their investigating of reports they may get sent, since after all, Blizz is going after HB now! Wouldn't it also make sense that the GMs (those mostly interested for sure) might indeed also be watching the AH and trading? Sure it does! Wouldn't they look closer into gold trading too? Blizz would indeed tell their GMs to do these things more diligently since they are going to try to shut down HB and from the looks of it! Some are. Perhaps it's that it's Blizzard just trying to throw a scare tactic at users!

One cannot come up with a definitive reason for why in the past 11 days there are a little over twice as many posts of bans than there was previous to the filing of the suit. Perhaps it's that it's just Blizzard trying to throw a scare tactic at users! They do that from time to time as it is and perhaps, it is just coincident that it happened at the same time or right after we heard of the suit.

One could argue that it's just in the past 11 days, more HB forum users are visting for the first time, since they have been banned and are posting. One could argue that if you look at the posts of the names of the people who wrote them, then one could see that these people are indeed NOT first timers to the forum. How many HB users have been banned that haven't posted on the HB Banned forums? How many people conversly, have not been banned that use HB? The numbers simply arn't there. I too can argue that there are many more HB users at present that have not been banned and like others, that would make the same argument, we'd probably be correct in that assertion and or assumption, depending upon what one wants to think or believe. But as stated, looking at the forum alone, it sure makes things look quite suspicious.

Is it a Ban wave? Nope, not yet anyway, but it sure looks like the GMs are being more diligent right now at the very least.
