      Let me get this right?
Did you copy some .xml file into notepad then saved it as a .txt document and then just changed the name of the profile from "profile" to "profile.xml"?

Or did you copy some .xml file into notepad, pressed save and then under saved name write "profile.xml"?

If you rightclick the profile you have saved, and press properties. Does it say it is a .xml or a .txt format?

I believe that you have simply renamed the file and therefore you are using a wrong format.
May i suggest you to do the following thing:
Find the profile you want and rightclick on it and press "Save Link as" or "Save Destination as"
      - Save the "link" where you have your profiles and try running that instead

What is the correct format? Like what do I save it as?

      Let's start another place.
What internet browser are you using?

      Right..
I think this is the only way i can tell it (from the way you are doing it)
When you have copied the entire content into notepad, press "save as"
In the name field you type the name of the profile and (listen up now this is the important part) you finish it by typing .xml

Filetype still has to be .txt but name HAS to finish with .xml

You cannot just change name outside of notepad.
Has to be saved inside notepad.

      Example:

      This is my profile.xml
