If i know correctly you need to query (PM) the IRC bot to do the .login This is just for the security
Curious, is everyone just creating a private channel on some random irc server or hosting their own on home pc? I was looking into InspIRCd and few other progs that seem pretty easy to setup and wondered if its worth the effort.
well, you can just let him join Quakenet.org and create a private channel with a random name... Like "thisisacoolchannelbeacusenoneisgoingtojoin" no one is going to join that channel.
Is it possible to enable this for multiple accounts? I run 3 HBs at the same time but the way this is working now there's only one set of configurations, thus you can't use it on all 3.
I think its best to have multiple bot folders indeed. If more people that are using multiple accounts just use 1 folder i will add it.
Why should I have multiple bot folders?! HB is built so it can support multiple bots from one HB install. There's no reason whatsoever to have it installed multiple times. There's even base support to save settings of plugins, addons, etc. to a character. So why would I need multiple bot folders? All other plugins work just fine for multiple characters from 1 HB install.
to answer all of you. beacuse i create a file within the program folder i dont create a new folder named your character. Whats different? i dont know, I just started coding from scratch thinking it would be fun making a IRC plugin i didn't notice quickirc before i was nearly done... dont come here and tell me that you are angry beacuse i made a plugin? and l337pally AndroIRC is working just fine for me : Home - AndroIRC (Android IRC Client)
Standard practice for HB is to use a Settings file per character in the Settings folder of HB. You could check out how other plugins do it.
having an issue getting it to actually join channel. my log is showing But its not joining channel, also everytime i go into settings it keeps unchecking itself for not use ftp thing. It just wont save it to not use ftp
I will check it, can you try to just use some random username and password for the ftp? and check if it connects when you have the FTP settings? and Croga it is not on my top prior but i have been thinking about it. The way that i am going to do it is like: creating a settings folder and inside that the file with character name + realm or something
New beta coming soon: Fixed ftp (hotfix) Fixed writing of file (hardfix) Added: More debugging before trying to write the file
