Be in a hardcore raiding guild.... Have under 100 characters in guild.... Be the only one who "Farms" over night..... Be asked countless times "How can you be bothered to stay awake farming them airs ?" . . Feels good
I couldn't imagine my guild didn't know; and I know many of them do. But when 7 characters are in seven different zones, doing seven different things (questing, bg, farming, fishing) it's impossible to not tell. I always give people stuff though like cloth or ore, enchanting mats, etc. Anything that makes their life easier! Big raid guilds are always different beasts as well, most of those people don't give a shit. If you are showing up to all their raids, getting geared, and healing / tanking for them... it would screw them to boot or cause you to lose their account. When you are providing fish / flasks / etc for people, why give that up? That means instead of doing it yourself, you can let home boy bot.... and you get some benefits. I helped provide mats to people when I was botting. My GL flipped at first, and then he realized that I was putting in like 10k+ mats a week and stfu .
I don't tell people in the guild what I do is, i did this on runescape and other games I botted on in the past, I make trust worthy friends on the game, and after so long of knowing them they are always like "How do you make so much money!" i always tell them i no life the money, and eventually i ask them to go to msn as I am always thinking these games record your convocation, and I tell them on msn or yahoo or aim etc i use trillion so i got them all, i tell them that I bot and i monitor it while doing college homework or watching tv etc, and if anyone asks in game including them I will deny it, to ask they have to come outside of game, as I am paranoid of logs, and I refuse to get on a log with me admitting to botting, that's like asking blizz "Ban hammer me please" =)
I have my own guild for a bot account, but I bot on main acc for lvling and arch and I wouldn't tell anyone in guild about my hobby
OFC i do people who i know are normally really chill and i just flat out tell them when i am farming a sea turtle mount all night or herbing all night im obv botting then i direct to them to honorbuddy website and its GG I am friends with some R1 wow pvpers and even they use honorbuddy now so if a rank one MLG is fine with using honorbuddy and talking about it ingame >_> should we be so paranoid
If you are going to tell them make sure they have something to lose if they turn you in. It's very easy when you think about it.
Yeah I hook them up if someone asks. Two reasons: 1.) I usually can afford too 2.) if they say something stupid, you can be like "Well see my other account here was where I sent some of my goods. "
In my opinion you are much better off (in virtually all scenarios) to be completely discrete about the fact that you bot. In other words, STFU about it.
Only my best friend know, because he is truly my best friend and he was the one who bought me all the WOW games with expansion so i can finally play, because if not i will have never play, as i have resisted for 5+ years lol. And he gets all the mats he ever wants lol.
Before I started using the bot on my main I was actually hand grinding mobs for rep acheivements. My GM wsped me once and asked if I was using a bot, that they didn't care but just to know that there is a chance of loosing an account by botting. I just linked the acheivement I was working on and said no I would never risk my account to a bot but I am an acheivement hound and I had to grind for the acheivement. I know of none in my guild that use a bot and I do keep an eye out (small guild) of some other guilds where half their top players us a bot to gather mats (poorly I might add) and then brag about all the gear they bought and all the gold they have. I love watching some of them blink out of existence, then start up new toons on new accounts and claim how they "lost" their accounts beause they were "hacked." Hacked my ass, they were banned for botting poorly.
Before I reads any of the replies I just wanna say I used to bot with mmoglider I lost two accounts in that fire ands I told my WOTLK guild this They just kept bugging me etc Some judged but w/e HB is a whole different monster I came back to wow after like 4months for 4.3 Lvl1-70 and 70-82 honor farm 82-85 leveled with archaeology (500kexp/hr) And now I'll be rolling a paladin HB is a fucking beast my understanding of Druid heals will never accomplish What HB does Certain things HB can do 1000x better than a person That being said I think I would rather let my guildies suspect I bot Due to activity time and let them think otherwise b/c their mind probably Doesn't comprehend how much BoTs can do now-a-days I'd rather keep it as an ingame secret only b/c I dont want the whole community to know how awesome HB is or Notting in general WoW is no longer. Boring with a bot, it's like watching a child being kickass at sports when before you knew he sucked BoTs are sooo much more and it's MINE , ALL MINE P.S - shout outs to shadow , Hazz, Tony and numerous others ( I can't remember while I'm on the bus) that made my HB experience so awesome
My guild knows I bot, but ive been playing with them for over 10 years in games now, they actually love doing pvp with me and my healers, and lazy raider.
I'm part of a L25 guild that someone bought. There are people constantly joining and leaving, but I talked to the GM and he's a private buyer.
