It was funny, really... I started with HB2 not long enough, so, i didn't know how to recognize the bot patterns... But, as soon as i started doing BG this past weekend, i noticed LOTS of players following the exact same route than me, they mounted and un-mounted at the same time as well, they got stuck in the same places, so... i figured it out pretty quick...
There were also less clever bots that don't fight, some of them just follow another char and jump from time to time. I had two or three of them on my tail this weekend, and they didn't fight even though my toon was attacked next to them...
At certain point, one of the guys from the BG said: "Let's report the bots". I freaked out, (lucky me, i was watching the screen), and i asked him what did he mean, and he told me: "These guys following you around". He was referring to the "stupid" bots... Luckily, not HB2... So... i think that as long as the bot fights, and doesn't get stuck doing weird movements, it remains undetected...
Next weekend is WSG, i and think i can give it a try... AV is better because the amount of players, but what about WSG? Is there anyone who did a "crazy CTA WSG weekend"? (from friday to sunday, AFK or course).

Yeah wsg is far too risky for my liking.

saw a lot of bot - trains in av this weekend... lvld my rogue 80 - 85 and got him in full season 10 aswell.

this is what i mean when bg pathing needs to be revised... the bot aint smart at all, its just using a click to move path and its always the same, if you meet

people along the way , it fights, if not, it keeps folowing the same path over and over... just retarded, but this has been said many times, and still no one

feels the need to change this. honorbuddy started out as a pvp bot, but its damn well broken atm. received my first ban a week ago, 72 hour one. I just sat it out.

no need for me to bot no more with 18 85's and more gold then i ever can spend. i just use it in arena when i dont feel like playing and my partner pushes me :)

Don't use BG Bot and get w00t's AV profile (even the default one works). PVP Bot can use random hotspots so it's a lot less likely you'll be on the same path as someone else. It's pretty funny botting and seeing someone using BG Bot stop at the bottom of the hill right before Icewing Bunker. I love BG Bot for every other BG... but it draws a ton of attention when 5 people run to the same exact point and stop for no reason.

Yes.. I came to post on this exact thing. I kept ending up in a AV with another HB2 user and it was *PAINFULLY* obvious what was going on. Had I not noticed this was happening both of us would of eventually got a ban. I even use non-standard profiles (which i was under the false impression would maybe help avoid this) for all my BG's.

HB2 dev this is a wicked huge problem. Some entropy needs to be added into multiple layers of the bots logic (hot spot, pathing, and targeting). Not only does this make us sitting ducks for player reports it gives Blizzard a open door for server side heuristic detection (which we know they do to some degree already). I would also expect that with pending law suites Blizzard will invest more time into purely server side detection methods. It appears to me Blizzard is a bit scared to risk their law suites with harsh client side mass bans (that and they can no longer afford to lose 50k+ accounts revenue in a single month and keep their upper management happy).

For the time being I'm able to keep an eye on the bot enough to head this off at the pass... but seems like full multi-hour AFK sessions in BGs are off the table until we stop looking like a horde (no pun intended) of clueless retards.

I use w00t's profile and this still occurs with a good deal of frequency. This is a design issue with the bot from what I can tell (though correct me if I'm wrong).

Yep, there are a lot of bots =) AV seems stupid really - bots vs bots fight

And yes, the pathing should be revised, whats a point in using navmesh if you just following a static waypoint path, thats a waste really.

Does PVP Bot work in BG? I didn't know that. I thought it was good only for arenas, where you see the enemy right away... Does it run across the BG looking for enemies? I would certainly like to draw less attention...

Sounds like a bad use case for the PVP Bot. I think the BG Bot should either abandon profiles completely and handle hotspots and pathing more elegantly.. or just force people to make their own profiles.

You'll still be on the same path as other people, but it's much less likely to happen. The PVP scripts randomize hotspots... so if 5 bots get in the same AV.. they might start pathing the same way at first but split up because they are each going to a random hotspot. With BG Bot, if 5 bots join AV they'll all go to the same place at roughly the same time because BG Bot is trying to use logic to tell the bot where to go.

WSG is very risky IMO. The logic of both bots isn't quite there yet to make them look realistic. Plus I feel sorry for making the bot do WSG...

Well I feel a bit stupid since I never read w00t's BG profiles instructions... I had assumed they worked with the BG Bot. Though I still wish the BG Bot was a bit less obvious. :p

Oh my God! Same thing happened to me. I assumed they were for BG BOT... I'm gonna try them tonight with PVP BOT. Another useful plugin i read about is "Autoprecision". It prevents the stops and the loops in the path you're traveling.

rofl.. and people wonder why they get suspension emails followed by the ban hammer. I'm much happier now that I've switched back to the PvP bot. Not as smart about where it goes but neither are most players in random BG's anyhow.

Definitely BG botting needs work. My toon would run up to a point were the fight was happening and then abruptly turn and run the other way.

I botted a ton in AV over the weekend with my ret pally using ezpvp CC and combathelper and the good thing is that my toon was tearing up everything he saw, actually doing some serious dmg. But the way he ran around doing stupid things made me very nervous - looked overly botty. I would prefer if he just ran to a tower and defended it the whole time.

      Thanks.
