Hi, I stopped playing WoW when glider got shut down and now that there appears to be an alternative I'm thinking about coming back. To people who have used both, glider and honorbuddy, how does honorbuddy compares to glider? Is it as safe? Feature-wise, is it as good as glider(elite) was? Finally, I read that honorbuddy has been sued by blizzard, should I expect the same thing that happened to glider? From what I've read so far honorbuddy looks decent but I'd like to hear the opinions of people who have used both before I make the purchase and acquire the game.
I never used glider but I can tell you honorbuddy is very safe. It really depends on how you use it. If you are smart you wont get banned. I doubt HB will shutdown as glider did seeing so glider was an american company and violated the DMCA. Which was why the lost the case. Honorbuddy has many features, especially with usermade bots and plugins. I was skeptical at first as I had never used any 3rd party tools in WoW apart from a radar hack when farming netherwing eggs and rare companions. Luckily I had a friend who allowed me to use 1 of his sessions for leveling one of my characters and gathering on another as he could only use 2 sessions at most out of his given 3. So I could try HB full for free before I bought which many people don't have the option to do. If you want HB to be safe I can help you with some tips, also just looking around the forum and at the ban reports you can see what gets people caught, this way you can avoid being banned.
Safer and more/better featurs than glider imo. Legal issues yes, Buddy Team prepared for it and hopefully that will pay off, unlikely it will end the same as gliders issues. Spent 2 years with glider, been with HB almost 2 years/ 0 bans to date.
