If you're serious about selling Rift Platinum i suggest you sell privately, to friends and guildmates etc but be careful i would suggest you trade the plat on a secondary acc

I subtracted electric costs 3 times because I assumed each account would have its own computer. I also added them back in at the end there in the case that they were run in VMware or similar "(+$70 if you run them all on one machine instead of 3 due to electric costs). "

Also the $6/plat was just an estimate as I didn't look up any prices, was just guessing. At 3 cents per plat this would cut my estimated profits in half. Add in that most people pay more for electric than I do (apparently almost double) and you're looking at this not even being worth the time to set up.

At 3 cents per plat and $.30 per kWh you'd profit $4.56 per month by running one bot 24/7.
If you can only find a seller paying 2 cents per plat, you will actually LOSE over $25 per month!

In other words, not only is it not worth it, it can actually cost you more than you'd make.

As you mentioned, this is also why bitmining is no longer a good idea. However, people are paying out the ass for ATI 5850s and 5870s on eBay for that sole purpose. I just sold my 5870 and picked up two 6870s in crossfire, getting a big upgrade and making about $50 after rebates in the process!
