SO im just wondering about the bots future?

looking at the forums i would think that most of the people using ryftomate have been banned so thats most the the client base gone for ryftomate so will you carry on?

any idea how it was found out?

every real botter will bot again, even if there would be another ban wave..people would start botting again.

pretty sure people not using your program will stop it.

But people will continue to use Ryftomate once it is safe to use again..

Nothing is ever safe, it's always a gamble, you may think "Hey I just got a toon to 50, I'm done botting" then you don't bot for 2-3 weeks and then boom, you're part of the banwave. I know because this happened to my buddy and to me. They have ways of detecting if you used it, when you used it, and how long you used it. The devs may end up finding a way to get around this times' detection, but Trion will continue to put in detection, and banwaves will happen. Sad but true. It's kind of a good thing though, not a lot of MMOs take the time to weed out the cheaters/botters, so that's one good thing in Trion's favor is they actually give a crap about their game.

I don't know, I look at it this way, from a programming stand point. If you can create a bot, how long will it last before being detected? Fix it again, what did you change, how long will it run? Fix it again, what did you change, how long will it run? It is kind of like an achievement to program something this well off, it will be reborn again in some fashion, re coded again in another fashion.

Glider had a court case to contend with. Ryftomate doesn't, and never will due to location.

      As you say, most.

I believe this is based out of germany, which has consumer-friendly digital laws, which is why they haven't been chased. Same reason the chinese bots don't get chased - the chinese govt doesn't have laws governing bot software (DMCA doesn't apply).

It'd be nice if bossland (or any of the dev team that knows for that matter) could step in and lay it out as to the exact laws that keep them protected, but not necessary I guess

      Thanks, Kickazz006, Tony.

I remember reading somewhere on the old (as in before HB was out) GB forums about you guys being untouchable, but haven't spied anything on the subject since.

that's it .. germany is 3rd party heaven ;DDDD

and about "banwaves and botters will stop botting .. or maybe leave rift alone ... well the " real botter makes a new account and gives as many infos as possible why where how he was banned ( as far as he could know) and starts a new account botting right away to F*** the games company...or just other players that dont bot and are poor ingame or whatever ;D

even tho, this bot is .. how old ? the game is .. how old? we can be lucky that its bossland who does this riftbot since they are super experienced due to wow-bot-development.
if there was abot for wow not even half year after release, that comes with quality like ryfketchup(tomate :D ) there would be only around 2% non-botters in wow.(arent the alrdy?)
