So while sending an e-mail attempting to get a credit for the 6 month gameplay I paid upfront at launch (which means I have 3 months of gameplay that I cannot use due to be being banned) I also tried to get my account unbanned . Anyways, I was honest told them I botted, etc... Asked them to reconsider my ban, because I read all over forums that first time offenses were 24 hour bans and character rollback, which I thought was fair and would be fine with that punishment. The response I got back was, "Your use of the bot software was so extensive that we cannot even begin to have a notion as to when you started using the bot, so the permanent ban is quite necessary in this case. The people getting the 24 hour bans you mentioned were people who we were able to guage the time spent using the bot software." There you have it, pretty much if they are having a hard time calculating how much usage of the bot you've done, then you get the perma ban.
I can confirm this. I'm not going to post the entire message but "Your account was found to be using an illegal 3rd party program that automated the gameplay of your character in the game world for a long period of time."
My wife's account was created at launch. She hand leveled a toon to 50. No botting whatsoever. When Ryftomate came out, she botted a second toon up to mid 30s. Perma ban.
I haven't used the bot in about a week. I didn't get banned even though I used the fuck out of it; however, my guild mates that have used it in the last couple days were perma banned. This implies the detection wasn't in place until a few days ago.
They said the same stuff to me too... Unless they detected me using Macrogoblin...Which I then let the account cancel out...for about a month.... then i reupped to use Ryftomate... this is BS.
clearly they must have something detecting the software, either ip addresses or some kind of kind of code I dno, but here it is We sincerely regret to inform you that due to the use of third-party programs that automate gameplay, your account has been permanently closed. We have conducted an extensive audit in arriving at this conclusion, and we do not take these types of actions lightly.
I love it how they say "We conducted an extensive audit"... when in all reality it should say "Our software decided to ban your account"
I'm not certain this theory applies 100%. I botted probably a total of two hours, and received a perma.
Heh I can already tell what is taking so long. They found out that Trion reads synchronous data in RAM that affects the game client. They [Ryftomate] are struggling to figure out a way to avoid detection when that is how the bot is designed. So to avoid detection the bot has to be remade. This will be interesting. =)
i believe it was the last update, then they updated ryftomate very quickly, missing the fact that they had pulled an xbox360 on us and updated their detection.
that can't be. read what other people posted, they used the bot the last time weeks ago and still got banned (including me).
