Need some explanation of how key binds work. I just bought this after much reading on here, because people said it was user friendly, but have found it to be nothing close to that. I am a programmer and was an avid PIROX contributor. I hope to contribute to the cause here to... but where can I find a guide that will actually help...

I have read all of the guides... not one explains what to put into the Settings & Tools>>> Ground Mount slot? Is it an item ID the name of the mount.

More than that I need an actual guide that will walk me through this ...

For any of those sorts of options you can type in either the name or the ID#. No key binds are needed, HB and all its components don't use macros - except the standalone version of GB1 which is seperae from HB/GB2.

On the home page where it announces Pirox shut down, press the link "Useful For New Users" or go to

For everything you want to learn, do a look around for something that does sortof what you want to do?

Like for profiles, have a look at other farming profiles.
Look in the Wiki. Chinajade put a lot of work in there.

For plugins it's gonna take at least beginner programming knowledge, and looking at a lot of other peoples work.
Having Visual Studio Pro helps a lot also.

      G'luck bud.

You two have to be joking me.. these are not guides... these a not even complete BASIC setup instructions... for example:

      http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/6703/settingswhileadvanced.png

What I am I suppose to select for those options...

here is an example of the guide we used
      http://fishy.piroxbots.org/pToolGUIDE/Guide2.pdf
      THAT'S A GUIDE!!!

To be quite honest, I'm not a programmer and I didnt really need a guide to change options/start up the entire programm. Even if you don't set up anything it will work to be honest.

      Excuse me?

It clearly shows the mount ID in that option (but you can try using the name, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't)

It also shows you what additional settings HB has.

You have no idea how many times I've answered questions with: Honorbuddy window, click "Settings & Tools", checkmark Advanced Mode, it's in there, like it said in the Guide.

      Anyways,

      Guide:

Mounts take either int or string

so the id of the mount or the name of the mount (flying or ground)

      most users just use auto

Also, please do not act like a mad 12 year old in our forums... i don't care if you're the president - you will respect the forums or you will be muted for the rest of your stay

With that all said, welcome to the forums!

      Plugins
      Classes
      Guides

      Customization options.
As well as making your own.

I'll break HB down for you quick.

The Dropdown - BotBase (What basic job will your toon be doing? Grinding/Questing/PvP)
Load Profile - Loads an XML profile (These profiles need to be used with the proper BotBase)
      Settings & Tools - Built-In HB options (Mailing/Looting/Mounts/etc)
Bot Config - Options for the BotBase you selected (What BGs to Que)
Class Config - Adjust settings for a CustomClass of your choice (Singular sucks atm, so I suggested downloading one from the above linked forum)
Plugins - C# files that can do just about anything you code them to do (See above forum, too much to explain)
Developer Tools - Find in-game object entryId's, hotspots, <Vendor/> XML tags, Blackspot generator, quest list, HB Target and Loot lists
Start/Stop - Well... do I really have to get that detailed?

Kickazz has made all the good Questing Profiles, and has a blog set up for new users: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/blogs/kickazz006/961-useful-blog-new-users.html
It covers a lot of information, in a small space.
Since you don't appear to be an idiot I think you can figure it out with the given information,

That was all great... read it all... now still not completely sure how to change the classes from Singulair to something else... It it affected by the profile I am loading? I.e. if i load Honorbuddy.xml profile do I have a choice of a different CC?

Whenever you change characters, or close wow you have to restart HB.

Either when you click Class Config, or hit start on HB, it will load the custom class. (If more than one is available for your character it will give you a list to choose from)
To change CCs you have to restart HB.

      yes you are right

Pirox needed such a big guide cause it was a non user friendly, very hard and complicated to set it up,bot.

Since Hb is a user friendly bot we just need a small guide, even users that they had 0 experience made it work.

Again, now that I am a few hours into analyzing the bot in action, I realize what you are saying. It is quite easy to get it off the ground once you know how to load a CC, profile and chose which bot you want.

However, the ease comes with a bit of a cost. For instance, I am using a great CC by FPSware (priest), but i have no idea how to make simple additions. For example: using the item Flask of Enhancement, Psychic Scream at 50% health, or use my PvP Trinket. My understanding is that in order to add these things I have to wait until FPSware adds it to the CC or learn how to program XML fast enough to make these additions?

hit the CC config button and you will find the settings of your CC

about the flasks and the trinkets now
some CCs got it build in functions like these but most of them not

check on our Plugins section and i am sure that you will find a plugin(s) that can do the job

yes, you are dependent here on the CC creators, thats as downside unless you know how to code. besides that the bot is fairly easy to setup and if you come across errors people are more then kind to help you out IF you are descriptive and have a logfile(which in the root folder called log/logs).

side note: we do not have cc's in xml. to code or add features to a existing CC you'll have to learn C# (sharp) and add it yourself. or ask the creator if they want to implement a feature. Singular get's updated most frequently so you might ask there. as FPSWARE is currently busy with RL stuff.

hope this sums some things up for you, the bot is easy to setup if you need further help I also suggest the rest of the guides section, or the Wiki page if you are looking into making profiles of any kind.

      regards,
      panYama

My first contribution to this community is going to be a REAL noob guide :p I think I have the basics down for now though. More to follow.

Thanks for everyone's input and guidance.... Honestly I want to be as self sufficient as possible, so I don't have to ask all these silly questions!
