Alright, I just bought HB yesterday. I made a toon today, and It's level 9. I'm thinking about leaving it over night. Is this a good idea?
The risk of a ban is always there. I've run QuestingBot with Kick's profiles overnight several times myself, often waking up to the bot being offline for several hours because of a bug or being stuck or something similar, or even worse when it's standing at the same questgiver for hours trying to pick up a quest or something similar. Never been banned, but I do know I'm taking a risk. If you're afraid of being banned, only bot while supervising. No bot/profile is 110% perfect, but most of them are quite close in my experience. It's all about the risks you're willing to take.
On a 100% new fresh account I will suggest not going over 10-12 hrs of online time per day. That's a LOT for a "new" player. Takes time to get truly "addicted" to wow But questing should be fine to leave alone for 2-4 hours. I wouldn't suggest leaving it while you sleep. You could use the LogMeOut plugin to close it after so much time. This will save you a lot of hassle. -Panda
If you really just want to test blizzards systems for fun, which I have on occasion... I've set a new account to run kicks questing 24/7 with no "extra" plugins. Other than the occasional HB core bug it ran perfect, and got to 60 in no time. (Prot Pally w/ custom class of ProtoPally) No ban on it even now. But back to the suggestion on 10-12... I did that over 3 months ago so we never know what Blizz is up to now. ...I should do another of these hardcore test runs... Meh. Good luck with the new account, Panda.
