I'm 34. I work a 9-5. I spend what time I have away from work sleeping, eating, spending time with the wife (isn't Desperate Housewives such a great show?), and hanging out with my buddy who lives an hour away, so drive time is a huge pain in the tuckus.

Why so much info, you ask? Because you need to know that I am one busy mofo. And I love to play WoW. But I hate hate hate hate hate questing/leveling. Questing isn't so bad on a "doing the dailies" level, or a "fun new instance" level, but 1-85 is a grind I won't do anymore. That led me to google what the safest bots were to use. Honorbuddy came up time and time again. So I said, "hell, why not?" and purchased the 1 day trial.

I used to bot with a certain other bot that got shut down back in the day, I'm sure you're all familiar with the one I'm talking about. It was fantastic. It would route you in a big circle, killing all the mobs you could see. It would even use fancy class abilities that seemed difficult to automate. Wow!

But then, just yesterday, I tried Honorbuddy. Holy. Crap. Bots have come a long way in just a few years. It's amazing. My jaw actually dropped, no joke. The amount of "plug-and-play" in honor buddy is astounding. You simply log into your character, run honorbuddy, download an amazing profile (mine was by Kick, I have another post to write to thank him for a job well done), and press the "Go" button. And sit back and watch your character level with QUESTING (something that could never really be done with the older bot I used) faster than I could ever have done myself.

Is honorbuddy perfect? No, of course not. There was one quest, where you had to use an item to "de-elite" a mob, make it regular so you can kill it. I kept running into these mobs as I was killing OTHER mobs for a 2nd quest, and Honorbuddy/the profile didn't know I should use that item even though the quest was done. That's understandable, I don't expect it to work that complicated.

But guess what? I'm a smart botter. I sit and watch the bot run, I don't "set it and pray" and walk away for hours. That would be nice but I am VERY particular about not getting my account banned. So, I just stopped the bot, completed that 1 quest (easy peasy) and set it back on again.

The other issue I had was that the profile cannot perform the "alliance warship" quests in Deepholm. You know what? No problem, I'd much rather do 5-6 quests on there manually than an entire zone.

So, a huge huge thank you to the makers of Honorbuddy, and especially Kick for his unbelievable profiles. You guys have made my dream of having more than 1 85 level character a reality. I completely endorse this product, despite you guys not actually knowing who I am. =P But seriously, get it. It will make your life so much easier.

Referring to the elite mobs you spoke about. Did you use the quest behaviours provided with kicks profile collection?

That gives the bot power to use stuff like you spoke of! :)

No, I haven't tried that. Only a few hours in so I am only breaking the crust of the honorbuddy pie! I'm excited to start learning this stuff!

      Squiggoth,

Welcome to the HB forums! It truly is a great product... I had zero botting experience prior to using HB... in fact, I found out about it on another forum when Blizz initiated the lawsuit. I read the story, then checked out the website and watched some videos... I was absolutely amazed at what the bot could do on it's own. Now I hate doing anything completely manually - dps, healing... all done with HB engaged, mostly with LazyRaider or Combatbot. I've done some quest/leveling alot of gathering, alot of archeology, a bunch of instances and MANY, MANY battlegrounds (LR and Combatbot - NOT BgBot or PvPbot). I look forward to the update for BgBot - it sounds GREAT!

Just remember, if you have a problem, do a little searching to see if you can find the answer already posted - and if not, ask. ;)

My first experience with botting was using a button masher called mouse machine, putting my toon in some out of the way place where some mob respawned in a reasonable amount of time. Set mouse machine to spam buttons, when mob respawns it dies. I go to bed and wake up with 2-3 bars of XP. Not exactly botting, but hey it worked. Compare that to HB. Is HB perfect....No Is HB damn good...Yes Do I and others come on here and bitch that something isn't working, of course....that's our job. From a positive perspective, it's all the bitching and complaining that have made HB what it is today. Properly used, it can pay for its self, pay for your wow accounts and pay for your game time, PLUS put money in your pocket. That's a long ways from gettin 2-3 bars of XP in 8 hrs.
