Assume for a second that this is true...it's only a matter of time before someone figures out a way around it, updates HB or whatever bot it is, and it works.

What? Blizzard change Warden? I laugh at the idea!

Seriously people, don't take posts from people with no technical knowledge seriously. If there's a problem with the 4.3.2 patch, we'll make sure everyone knows.

A little excerpt taken from the OP of the thread on mmo-champion:

"It looks like Blizzard is finally doing some good against the fight against bots.

They traveled to Germany, and other foreign countries and paid bounties to have these bot companies close shop.

Lazy Bot, Glider, Pirox, Pvpbot and Cybot, are all being shut down."

First of all, this guy has absolutely NO idea what he is even talking about. Glider was shut down years ago, NOT when Blizzard traveled to Germany.
Second, Pvpbot and Pirox is the same bot.
Also, warden was changed in like 2005 I think, because scanning ANYTHING other than the Wow.exe process violates the 4th amendment of the Constitution of the United States (and most likely other various country's laws).

They would have to change the EULA b4 they start digging around in your machine... And I dont really see that kind of EULA for a game... Maybe if it was control software for a nuclear plant.

look, heres how its going to work.
when the servers go down for US. we are going to wait for the patch to release and start analyzing the patch, and we are going to have to wait for the servers to come up, then start building a new version of honorbuddy for the new patch. if we didnt find anything in the patch analysis, (wtf was actualy patch and what changes where made to the client) then we are going to start doing internal testing with our test accounts, if its safe we are going to release Honorbuddy (i doubt it, chances are HB is going to be done till after EU comes back up after patches.) if EU goes down, we will take the auth servers offline since theres no need to have people trying to use honorbuddy with no new version for the new patch. but as always we are going to do testing, and making sure our product is safe before doing a release. remember dont bot on what you dont want to lose. as always there could still be that chance blizzard could use its gypsy magic after we do a release, but not only is that very unlikely but as we learned from glider despite everyones best efforts, you can never be 100% of anything. if there is a detection or blizzard pushes out a warden update while wow is running, tripwire will engage and kick everyone offline.

chances are if blizzard does do any kind of bot detection its going to be an update to their server side statistics and analysis , like we've already seen before not an update of their failed warden program.

      to reiterate my points.
dont bot on what you cant stand to lose.
there are precautions made during the update process and after the fact to keep accounts safe.
warden is a junky piece of software.
theres risks to what we do, bans can happen they will happen, its just part of the job.

The better question is did Blizz actually buy out Pirox or just sew them and Pirox didn't want to fight back or wasnt established properly to be able to fight back; so they closed their doors?

this has nothing to do with the thread.

but Blizzard sued the pirox creator, just like he did bossland. and was basicly given a Cease and desist order, shutdown or get sued obviously getting sued is a lengthy and expensive process so he basically negotiated with blizzard to shutdown and walk away, who knows if he got any money out of the process but blizzard got what they wanted.

MMO Lazy existed before Blizzard closes Wow-Robot.
It's not the same bot and the same devs.
