Has anyone started playing this game? id like some info about it and its comparisons to WoW, ive read reviews and shit but id like some more in depth opinions
Can you be a bit more specific? It's hard to provide you with something different that "It's great" or the kind of things you've seen in review without an idea of the impressions and comparisons you are looking for. That being said, I'm sure myself and others could give you the information you need to make your own conclusions on whether or not the game is right for you.
well, used to love wow, got tired of the lack of end game solo content, as in without a guild the game at 85 was pretty boring, still love the concept of the game, want to know if the voice overs and personalised quest lines are worth the 44? retail buy and the subscription, what are the classes and abilities like in comparison to wow, how is leveling 'made easy' or even is it difficult to level. Also whats the PvP like.. this is what im looking for, i didnt really ask for specifics just any general info/review/opinion a player could give....
As far as solo content goes, there is dramatically more than what you see in WoW, and because of the voiceover work and interactive conversation system the feel of immersion is much higher. If solo content is your primary focus, this game is leaps and bounds above WoW. Each of the eight classes has their own story, so re-rolling leads to new experiences throughout the game rather than just the starting zones. As far as solo content after hitting the level cap, I'm not sure there's all that much, but then again it's an MMORPG so it's meant to be more of a social game at that point. It's not perfect, but this is a pretty good starter point for someone trying to pick a class with play style they are comfortable with. AC comparisons to WoW Classes for the current/ex WoW player : swtor Leveling difficulty varies from class to class. Sith Warriors/Jedi Knights seem to have a pretty easy time plowing through everything, while I've found aspects of the Smuggler/Operative classes to be more challenging. That being said, if your gear is on par with your level and quest that you're on, you're not going to ram your head against anything. There's only one quest I have found to be extremely difficult at level (The Blood Legacy as Level 8 Inquisitor), and given some of the whining I read when trying to figure out what was going on, I wouldn't doubt that the encounter gets nerfed. Very similar to WoW's PvP system though not yet as robust. The combat itself places a high priority on interrupt timing and stuns. The Warzones (Battlegrounds) currently implemented more or less correlate to a modified WSG/Twin Peaks-esque Capture the Flag map (Huttball), a resource control map similar to Arathi Basin (Alderaan) and an alternating defense/attack objective based map like SotA. Also of note, there is currently only *ONE* level bracket for Warzones (10-50), though this is being split into 10-49 and 50 in an upcoming patch. Currently, the stats of lower level players are bolstered in order to keep them competitve with high levels, though no new abilities are gained. Anything else?
TL;DR: It's wow in space with some immersion improvements, but a few features (notably the group finder) are still missing for now.
Pretty fun leveling. Gets old like WoW but it held my attention much longer (leveling that is). Endgame seems weak and the only consistent way to obtain gear at 50 seems to be PvPing. PvP right now is pretty bad since there is only one bracket (12-50) where all levels are equalized to 50. The problem is the players under 50 are outgeared and missing a ton of abilities. There also doesn't seem to be a matchmaking feature so you can get 10 low levels vs. 10 50's. Sucks and there is no way to lose a game fast if the other team doesn't want to kill you. The plus side to PvP is that it is very easy to AFK and farm xp+commendations (honor).
Thanks Spriestdev for that detailed reply, + rep, and also thanks for all other contributors, i went and purchased this game and it is great, much better than wow tbh, never quested this long on any mmo.
