So, you have probably seen the sellers of "Sands of time" on your servers by now. They are selling Sands of time for 1k gold mostly, which is vendor-purchased item for 3k gold. It is not possible to farm it as far as i know. They are loosing 2k gold for each sell, so why are they doing it? I have seen 3 explainations so far: 1: goldtransfering or converting gold to mats for stockpiling in GB for safekeeping. Seems highly unlikely as they loose so much on each sell. 2: dupe glitch for Sands of time. Seems also highly unlikely with Blizz on the watch for everything and anything goldrelated. 3: elaborate scam-method where they sell Sands of time cheap, gets the attention of some unsuspecting player and wants to show him how it is done, all they need is his account for a few hours... As it is now, your guess is as good as mine, but i know one thing. There is gold to made here, but if im gonna get any i need to know wtf is up with this. So, anyone knows more then?
Two comments from wowhead By Glica (573 ? 1?11) today at midnight (Patch 4.3.0) Report I bought a bunch yesterday looking to seek a profit. As a result, I got banned today for: Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy By maggihunter (470 ? 3?5) yesterday at 9:02 PM (Patch 4.3.0) Report In patch 4.3.0, someone found a way to duplicate these. The price is still the same even though the ones who have duplicated them sell the item for 1k. (no need to downrate, this has been confirmed by several game masters)
Hmm, I seen this too and I bought a bunch and also got banned. What they're doing (gold farmers) they're mass stalking these things with other items like Queens garnet ect.. They throw it into a guild bank. Then use another account to "hack the guild bank" They then sell the stuff super cheap. And then go back to the original account and say their guild bank was hacked and they get all those items back.
This was infact an item "dupe" expliot that was found. Not many people knew about it, but it ended up getting sold (The way to do it) to chinese gold sellers and they went crazy with it. It has now been patched tho, so everything should already be back to normal.
Gold prices are still down. They stock pilled so much with this... I asked for prices last week, before patching, they didn't even said a price they would just say "low" or "stock full" LOL, so obvious.
