so I have been using the bot for questing and u really cant leave it alone cause I feel like it gets stuck alot, was wondering if grinding would have less issues. However I hear that grinding is more banable, is this true, if so why.
Grinding is more afkable, killing mobs over and over isnt much of a task. The opinions are split. Some say its ok nothing will happen, other say its dangerous because blizz is looking at your stats and can see you have tons of the same mobs killed for long hours. Especially people who see you will report you a lot more.
The questing bot works perfectly If you'll tweak it a little and use the right plugins etc. Grinding looks much more "botty" than questing, as no one would actually go around and kill thousand mobs for leveling.
And wich plugins may that be? I'm also having a lot of problems with the question bot + I have a lot of plugins, so please go a lil more in deph about youre plugins.
Depends on the realm, US are more aggresive than the EU... it's US = Autoban if 24/7 and EU = Player Reports I'm grinding now and I'm at level 80 something... in Hyjal, grinding since level 1.
BUT KEEP IN MIND: If you kill too much mobs during a period of time without relogging, you MAYBE WILL get flagged (on EU servers).
We don't know how many mobs you need to kill to get flagged. I grind a lot but never over 24 continuous hours in the same place. For levelling, grinding is a lot easier. No matter how well we make the bot run or make profiles, toon get stuck on funny scenery added for the Lunar festival or on awkward trees that "spike" your toon and it can't get away. I woke up this morning and found one of my toons in Zangamarsh was stuck inside a set of mushrooms and I had to hearthstone out.
Oh and kick to answer you're question, the question profile just gets stuck A LOT, I can't run it overnight or when I'm not at the computer I just can't.
Logically, grinding is less "buggy" because all you're doing is standing there killing mobs in a small area rather than running from place to place talking to quest givers, using items, talking to other quest mobs, etc. But as everyone has mentioned, grinding is also the more dangerous of the 2 (at least in some opinions) since most people don't really like to stand there killing mobs over and over on a daily basis. When I leveled up my last horde character, Azenius was a pretty clean set of profiles. I could actually leave that running overnight and wake up in the morning and it would still be chugging along. I also like that they split the profiles up by level range/zone so you don't have to sit there for 10 minutes waiting for it to wade through quest completion code before it starts where you left off. I tend to edit any questing profile I download to split them into different xml files now because of that.
Questing works perfectly for me, you need to use the plugins provided by kick in his svn. I also use logmeout and pushnotify and i can leave my bot running for 8 hours with no problems
Questing does seem to be working relatively well. There are a few spots and times when I get DC'd due to mesh problems, or stuck problems but for the most part I can afk it. It does help that I can run wow + hb on my secondary work computer next to me at the office ahha.
