Hey, I heard from a friend that there are some times where it's unsafe to use honorbuddy, such as when there's a blizzard background downloader currently active or during a patch day. I was just wondering if someone could clear this up, is it true or a load of rubbish?
yea, its fine, the downloader is a just a custom bittorrent client from blizzard, so theres no need to be afraid of it.
ah okay, thanks Also, I heard blizz can "scan" your pc, which is how they find bots and such. Is this true? and if so, when do they do this?
They tried this once and its majorly illegal. If they tried to scan your PC they would have tons of lawsuits on their hands. BUT what they can do is scan your RAM to see programs affecting wow, but HB isn't detected by that, so your 100% safe from "detection" only thing to worry about is player reports, which cna also be avoided :]
