This problem only popped up today, I was trying to run the 1-525 herbing profile, until the bot went to ashenvale and needed to download mesh's. It usually downloads and then moves on right away, but this time it decided to totally freeze up. Ill attach a log.

[12:52:44 AM:450] Exception when attempting to download Kalimdor_40_28: System.TimeoutException: This request operation sent to net.tcp://auth3.buddyauth.com:5031/AuthService.svc did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:00:30). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client.

      open port 5031

I am having the same problem. Deleted my mesh folder and disabled my firewall on my router and the windows 7 firewall. Still get the same error. My problem started in Northrend - Storm Peaks. I wanted to start a new character and it won't download the mesh for the Lost Isles either.

This is the error. It looks to be the same. As I said, I disabled the firewall on my router as well as in windows but the error remains the same as the one posted here.

Port 5031 is open. I don't think it's a port problem. It downloads a bunch of mesh files then pops up with that same error. I have also noticed that the HB website has been a lot slower than it usually was over the past few days. Maybe it's just me but if I click on any forum link it takes between 7 and 20 seconds to open that link.

It works. Didn't use a new install. It just started working again. Really strange.

it could of been your connection since it looks like it was just timing out every couple of files or so. but then would continue downloading.
