      Sehr interessant, wenn ich nun gebannt werde wegen "Missbrauch der ?konomie", k?nnte man doch denen das PDF schicken um den Ban r?ckg?ngig zu machen :D... weil ja der Einfluss von Bots, offensichtlich kein "Missbrauch der ?konomie" ist.

      Interest in the findings led me to translate a page or two. I copied it letter by letter, but Google translate has its limitations I suppose. Maybe our Bilingual Buddies could shed some more light on what Edward Castranova had to say.

      WoW. Ich dachte erst, es w?hr mal wieder so ein reines marketing blabla aber die Grafiken sind schon echt interessant.
      Ich hab mir nie ?ber so was Gedanken gemacht und insofern kann man auch behaupten, dass das reine lesen einem schon die Augen ?ffnet.

      I read through this, not every single page butenough to be able to say, some parts are right, but others are completely false.

      While reading you get a feeling that the author never played world of warcraft himelf, neither any of those profs./dr. that wrote such a study.

      The argument "a normal user can do exactly the same as a botter" is technically correct but, no normal player farms that shit-tons amount of stuff i do with my bot(s). So of course i do have an advantage compared to normal legit players.

      Same goes for the argument "there are things you can't do yourself, so you have to play together with others on the same "experience level" (same gear?),players who, compared to other guildies, have to work more / care of kids (or whatever) can't keep up with their guildies as they can't spend that much time playing, so they are using a bot"

      Well that argument is barely wrong, as the bot can't do anything to keep you on the same "experience level" as others. Whatever is meant here, is described inaccurate. If, what i believe it is about, raiding, a bot can't keep you up with your guildies as it isn't able to raid itself.

      So just as an example, this and all other world of warcraft, or in general mmo studies, regarding the usage of bot software just lack of information.

      Sure they contain facts that are correct....but there are more than enough facts that are based on....well i don't know, but definitely not the experience of an mmorpg player.

      If there's something that will bring down honorbuddy....it will be those lack of information facts in front of the court. hands down.

      Alles gut und sch?n nur ich bef?rchte es ist leider ziemlich nutzlos.
      Wenn Blizz. meint es verst??t ihrer meinung nach dagegen dann ist es so. Da hilft auch kein Gutachten eines prof. etwas.
      Es ist ja auch egal wie Blizz. es dreht, sie k?nnen auch sagen es st?rt die anderen Spieler.

      Fakt ist sie wollen keine Bots. Wie sie es drehen und wenden ist am Ende egal.

      Aber mit Gl?ck ist evtl. der Richter von dem schreiben beeindruckt :)
      Trotzdem viel Gl?ck.

      it makes world of warcraft look bad, and the shareholders will never agree to change and let cheaters play on their game as well as the customers

      doesn't matter what that report says tbh..

      niemand kann jmd anderem verbieten etwas herzustellen au?er es verst??t gegen das gesetz...
      und ein gesetz gegen bots haben wir ja glaub ich noch nicht oder? ;)

      Ich kann wownerds Zweifel verstehen. Zwar ist "nat" auch f?r Mathematik u. Informatik, was hier definitiv passt, doch h?tte das Gutachten eventuell nicht auch in Zusammenarbeit mit einem "Dr. rer. oec" erstellt werden sollen?
