Shadow Priest CC Hi, I already leveled 4 priests from 1-85 by hand. Now i want to try to lvl up 1 with honorbuddy. The only useable CC is the one from singular. Realy, for leveling that CC is not that good. 1. Priests wear cloth, armor is a trivial joke. We want to keep the mobs as far away as possible. For that we have Mind Flay(MF). 2. Priests use mana to cast their spells. We want to keep our mana pool as height as possible before we need to sit down to drink. 3. Priests have DoT's, very good, but mana expensive. If we use the singular, he puts Shadow Word Shield on us, cast Mind Blast, Shadow Word Pain, Devouring Plague, MF, MF, Shadow Word Death. The mob is death before the ticks of Devouring Plague reaches 1/4 of the total amount. When the mob is dead, 1/2 our mana pool is gone. We sit down and drink mana. If we lvl manual, what we do ? We cast Mind Blast, MF,MF, Shadow Word Death => mob is dead with almost no mana use. If we have Elites, then we want to put our DoT's on it. To reach that, I changed a little bit the CC from singular. Now he will only cast Mind Blast, MF till Shadow Word Death. When the mob is death, we have used very little mana. I didn't changed the pvp behaviour ! Replace the Shadow.cs in the CustomClasses/Singular/ClassSpecific/Priest folder with this one. Be sure to set the Pull Distance to 40 in Settings and Tools from HB. I use it now with my lvl 36 shadow priest, and things goes a little faster now. Remember, that's for leveling ! BTW, talented plugin for Shadow Priest don't work. I need to put my talents manual. Not a big deal, but strange that only priest talents don't work. IMPORTANT Now that my priest reached lvl 82, the cc didn't work anymore because of Mind spike. Have to change it a little bit again. Here the new version that will work from lvl 1-85 Once you get Vampiric Touch, he will start with this spell, unless you have at least 1 orb, then he starts with Mind Blast, followed by Vampiric Touch, Mind Flay ... SWD. Vampiric Touch is 1 of our best skills in my opinion (lot of damage), so I use it ^^ This CC will never use Wand, because I disabled it completely. So, if u activate use Wand or not in the GUI config, it will never use it. Post in the normal Singular thread as well. The "normal" rotation for SPriest definitely needs some changes to make it mana friendly. Even 85 priests don't need to dot most mobs unless in Instances / BGs.
OMG, from the worst CC to the best one. Ty very much for that. My priest stopped to sit down to drink mana after every mob. Now he's a killing machine, what he supposed to be.
I only did a few minor changes to speed up things. The developpers did a good job with this Singular CC, but they wanted to do it to good. I love playing priests and hunters and I know very well those classes. I don't need a CC when i'm lvl 85, but for leveling one it's great. When I looked at my toon leveling with the standard CC, I was frustrated. I needed a lot of mana drinks and my toon was always drinking after every single mob. When there where 2 mobs, he needed to use his wand, because he was OOM. When I leveled up my priests by hand, I never had to use my wand. Now the CC almost works like it's me that plays with the toon.
I couldn't find this said anywhere and it's probably obvious to most people, but make sure you buy the glyphs you need otherwise the rotation sucks and you are burning through mana and drinking the entire time. You need Glyph of Mnd Flay, Shadow word Pain, and Spirit Tap. Pick up Shadow Word Death at 75. Before these glyphs: Drinking after every 2 mobs. After these glyphs: melting faces with 100% uptime. Hmm I created an entire discipline cc for levelling my priest, cause I didn't like the mana usage, but never thought about redoing the SP rotation. Very nice idea Will give it a go later on my new priest
FYI talents only worked for me once I unlearned them all first. I'm guessing if you don't have the talents in the exact order it wants you to have them it will error out.
Yeah, glyphs are nice, only 1 thing, 1st glyphs at lvl 25, second glyphs at lvl 50 and from lvl 75 on the last ones. Like I said, this CC is for leveling, not for sitting and drinking the whole way until lvl 75. When we get our shadowform at lvl 29 the only thing he do is killing 1 mob, sitting down and drink mana, then new mob, sitting down ..... With a few minor changes, my priest don't sit down anymore to drink mana. Killing mobs goes 10x faster. If you kill faster, you lvl up faster. Nobody force you to use this CC. Just use the standard CC with the glyphs if you want.
We're on the same page man, your CC is great thanks for the work. The glyphs just made it that much better, it was something I was missing that I didn't realize at first.
I tried this -- the OP says the shadow priest should now be using Mind Flay (MF) more often, but my shadow priest isn't. It typically opens with Mind Blast, then Mind Spikes until the mob dies, but it does appear to be using Shadow Word; Death appropriately. So, should Mind Flay be part of the rotation?
I just found this CC and it is absolutely awesome improvement to Singular. @tomr This is just from my level 46 spriest.
I have never played or leveled a priest before. So I started HB and configured the bot... The singular mana usage drove me crazy and my char kept dying all the time! In furious rage I punched my mouse, started bleeding, came here for some help and found this thread! This Shadow.cs will handle 2-3 mobs like the standard handle 1. Thanks a million time!

Thanks, just downloaded this and it seems to be working great on my lvl 46 priest. Pretty much zero downtime, it's a huge improvement.
wich lv are you? cuz im using since lv 1, im 49 right now, u sure u installed in the right folder? plus i never saw this cc using shadow word pain
@Pasterke is it supposed to still be using Power Word: Shield, I'm 50 now and before your last update I don't believe it was. Just uses more mana now.
