v2 Version 1 Features (Credit to Zapman) - See Battleground, Whispers, Say and Guild messages. - Sound alert for all of the above. - Save all to a textfile with the click of a button. - Running in the background if you close it. - Two different sounds, one sounds for whispers and if a chat contains your name. - Change settings in a easy way. - Settings are saved till next usage. Version 2 Features - Saves settings based on character, not overall between all toons - Added ability to add aliases (For alerts based on name) - Runs in the background automatically on start (Can be disabled in options) - Added feature to change sounds. Comes with a bunch of default sounds now (Send me a PM if you think you have a good sound that should be added in) - Ability to see Battle.Net whispers About I really enjoyed the original Watch The Chat for it's Simplicity. I felt that it needed the ability to see battle.net whispers, and the ability to "Auto Start" without having to hit the show button. Along the way, I added a few additional features, and wanted to release it to the public. All credits for the original go to Zapman. It's undergone major design changes in v2. Howto - Compile the plugins, enable "WatchTheChat" and press the "Show" button to see logs/edit settings. Installation - Extract the folder inside the "WatchTheChat x.x.zip" to your plugin directory. Known Issues - Chat spams you if you pause the bot then enable the bot. I'm thinking I'm going to change the chat events to lua events in future versions. Support/Bugs - Please post here if you run into issues, or if you see a feature you would like to add in, in the future.
2 Things: 1. It should detect game whispers (Haven't tested it yet). GM whispers should follow the same events as regular whispers. 2. If it doesn't, GM's don't actually look what you are doing in the game when they message you. You could be farming, gathering supplies/whatever. They text you, if you don't respond they auto reply to the ticket and move on. They have a textual based client that messages you, and only if they need to will they teleport/watch you in order to solve an issue.
hmmm as i know (from my last contac) u do not get a whisper, u have to accept that the GM wants to talk to, so ... the event for regular whispers won't fire in this case should be this event GMSURVEY_DISPLAY - World of Warcraft Programming: A Guide and Reference for Creating WoW Addons
I tested to see if realid whispers get alerted, nothing. Could you please put this in? Would be great, thanks for the plugin nonetheless. *EDIT* NVM, I didn't recompile all, works great! + rep!
I also have rewritten WTC plugin which is based on "version 1" by Zapman. And i want to say that your version is better than my
