Alright so I am building a computer for multi botting. I started off thinking I need a computer that can run up to 4 bots at a time. I do not need anything special, I am a college student money is tight. So I figured $500 or possibly a little more I am willing to do up to $575 however less is more here remember, college $ = beer, dinners, etc., as long as I can do 4 bots with that. Any who here are my specs:

      Hard drive:
      SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Well my current desktop has a 2500 Barton and you know what it is just lacking, and it is in a shoe box since I didnt have a box.

So now I have a birthday and a little mula willing to spend and want something better. If I can do 4 WoW's on less then what I built up there tell me. Cause I still need a case in there and power supply!

Everything is fine, but I'd recommend you get more ram.

Also, as a sugestion, I'd drop the black edition phenom x4 and get an x3 that you can unlock the 4th core, if you're looking for cheaper alternatives.

for a computer build focused on botting you are spending way too much money on the wrong parts. its midnight and im just about to crash but i have this bookmarked and tomorrow i will draw you up a more appropriate wishlist, along with explanation of why i chose each part. im a college guy too so i understand the tight budget, i have also built ~5-8 computers in the past few year for several different purposes. i dont even know wtf im saying at this point, just wait til tomorrow and i will help you out.

Me too I have built about 6 computers so far, all worked out great. However all different one a super super computer for a customer another couple cheapest you can get ones.

So I swapped out the processor and motherboard and added 1g of ram same type:

      Motherboard:
MSI 760GM-E51 AM3 AMD 760G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
      http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130254

      Processor:
      AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition Heka 2.8GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3
      http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103652R

      RAM:
      2gb stick http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148304
      1gb stick http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148293

I would like your input on the changes and possible ways to make it better for botting. Here is the deal if I have this computer in my room it will be used for probably movies and daily work as well, might even connect to TV monitor whenever I get that one day lol.

I recently purchased a 64GB SSD to use as my Windows 7 OS drive. I had enough free space left to install WoW on the drive and let me tell you, it is the single best upgrade I've ever done as far as gaming goes.

It loads into the game almost instantly. I can run around Dalaran with minimal lag and loading into instances/new zones is very quick.

If you can afford $130-$140, I would highly recommend a nice SSD drive to run your OS and WoW.

ok im back, heres my 2cents on a build for you. first i wanna say GJ on the hard drive, 500gb is a waste if all you are gonna do is bot so using an older one is a perfect choice.

CPU: the one you picked out is an enthusiast part meant for overclockers to get their kicks with. you are looking for something that will run smooth and stable, overclocking is not the objective here so i would recommend this chip instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706 this is the base AMD quad core, not as fast as the one you picked but accomplishes the same thing for our goals. i would also skip the aftermarket CPU cooler, the stock cooler included with the chip works just fine.

Mobo/RAM: the ones you picked are both good choices for a higher end build but a little too spendy for just botting and daily work stuff. I would go with something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131626R because it has the bare essentials and nothing more. RAM would be http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148194

just a note, you always get RAM in pairs of exact sticks, never mix brands or sizes, even two like branded sticks made at different times can have problems working together. always buy your RAM in twos.

the power supply: this is one thing you do not wanna go cheap on, because everything else depends on it and if you get a POS no name unit that shorts out, you are probably gonna lose the motherboard and CPU also. i recommend Corsair, Cooler Master, or PC Power and Cooling as brands to shop around. im currently using a 750watt unit from PCPower, you should probably get atleast a 600watt unit because you can salvage it for a future build.

for a case, i would just take your pick on the least ugly from this list: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010090007 4093&name=$10 - $25

the video card is a tricky one. if you are truly never ever going to use the system besides botting and movies, you dont need a really powerful card and could get something as cheap as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143177

however, if you are going to occasionally play games or might upgrade the system in the future to be an all around computer i would suggest putting a little money into the graphics. i built a system last january using this card here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150466
it plays Oblivion max graphics and a fairly good framerate as well.

this probably will run you close or even over you budget, but its kinda hard to make a computer thats not going to be complete garbage in a year without spending a little on it/.

just remember to spend as little on extras as possible i.e. the motherboard needs to have a slot for CPU RAM and graphics, and thats about it. dont get something with extra slots or special overclocking features.

First things first, ditch the AMD chip and find yourself a nice Intel one. Reason I say this is because the intels are built for multitasking whilst also performing on a par with the equivilant AMD chips.
I comfortable run 6 bots (mixed GB/HB) the following setup.

      CPU: Intel Core2Duo e6600 over-clocked to 3.2GHz on air.
      HSF: Freezer Pro
Mobo: Asus P5B Deluxe with wifi.
      RAM: 6GB OCZ PC2-6400 DDR2
      GPU: BFG 9800 GTX OC
      HDD: Hitachi 1TB

If you build something a long these lines you will not have an issue running 4 bots. It is also very cost effective as most parts 2-3 years old now.
The only downside with this system is that you may need to shop around for certain parts as some places will no longer stock them.

Stretching the E-Penis for the Cause.

I have 7 Comp's I dont use them all at the same time but I switch it will give you a good idea of what you can do also on the high end comps I can have more bots just I don't have enough accounts.

1 Laptop Toshiba Intel Dual Core 2Gb Ram X3100 Intel Chipset it can run "2 Wow Bots Lowest Settings Macro"

1 Main Bot Computer Intel Core2 Duo E8400 2Gb Ram Nvidia 8400GS "4 Wow Bots Lowest Settings Macro"

1 Secondary Bot Computer Intel Dual Core 2Gb Ram Nvidia 8400GT "4 Wow Bots Lowest Settings Macro"

1 Server Computer AMD 3200+ 3Gb Ram ATi 3650 "4 Wow Bots Lowest Settings Macro"

I see what you did and I also changed some stuff and now have more of a final version here. The Powersupply is difference along with the ram you suggested and a new CPU its an x3 that I will unlock. The PS has 30amps at 12v so I know it will be just fine.

      Here it is:

The only thing I wonder about is 2g ram enough? I do have 2 other sticks of 512 however they are just plain DDR and from old comp. Another thing slightly worried about is the processor is that strong enough? I will unlock the 4th core however.

So then with that should I be able to get 4 out of it. Only thing worrieing me to get 3-4 which is really more like 2-3 accounts I will be doing. What worries me to do 2-4 is the ram, I probably need more. And the Video?

Seriously I bought an HP computer that was on sale last year had like 4 gigs of ram and on board video... it ran all of my accounts with no problem. I eventually added a better vid card and more ram since I am always multitasking but it worked fine.
