So you notice someone else is using GB..

I farm Storm peaks and have not had any issues. Now there is a pally that comes along and is using GB at the same time I am. Normally I don't care as in theory we should far away from each other far enough its not painfully obvious however he uses crusader aura so we never really offset one another he is always on top of me and we are making the same movements all the time...

What would you do?

Use/Create another profile.
That way you'll go to different nodes + avoid him.

-Create your own profile with a different route
-Reverse the route
-Change zone
-Random other thing

Sheeew no need to get hostile. Simply offer a positive suggestion and move on.
Create a profile of your own and don't share it or simply try a different profile in another area of storm peaks.

Right there is why 80% of the bans happen. It was worse with Glider.. people where using the same profile and it pissed each other off.

Who better to catch a botter but a botter.

This is why I dont use Public profiles. Kids like this.

 

I have to admit when I started using Mr. Fishit I found an Orc in my usual fishing spot I watched him for hours and I mean it was probably around 4 hours. I had thought this guy is in my space! but as I thought about it I realized with 10million players in Wow we are bound to overlap at times and banning someone for doing the same exact as you are is really pretty cruel and undeserving. I don't want to be reported and I don't want any negative energy (karma) coming back my way so I just leave people be.
I found a hunter the other day using the alliance Scholazar basin profile. I kept a watch on him as I was killing mobs and any others that might try and harass him. With 2 of us there it looked like maybe we were teaming up and just grinding out xp and skinning mobs. So be kind to fellow botters and maybe in return they will be kind to you

The animosity between you guys that comes out is just hilarious. So much for a "botting brotherhood".

 

Dont fuckin report him. What gets me the most is people that say they are sorry to hear about an account loss, but then report everyone in sight. How would you like it if that was you and another person was having this conversation on another forum?

 

How about you stop your bot for 5 minutes, go make a cup of tea and then start it again so that you're both at opposite ends of the zone?

Better that than going overkill and trying to get a FELLOW BOTTER banned. Would you be happy being banned if he did likewise?

 

funny sstory

So i got home last night and went to check on my bots (pally/druid raf'ing) they are in the mid 30's and are my first alliance toons. I turn on my monitor to find a guy followin me. He had been whispering me and following my toons around skinning everything i killed. The funny part is his response when i stopped the bots. he whispered me and siad i am a miner also and i didnt take any of your ore, but you were not skinning so i have been following you around for hours collecting skins. he was very friendly and honestly i cannot tell if he was even smart enough to tell i was botting. but the last thing he said is do you mind if i add you to friends i can follow you and skin again sometime.

 

You'd still catch each other again after a short time..

What you do is have 2 80's of opposite faction, and kill him endlessly. This just screws up his botting session rather than getting him banned.

Granted most of the kids using this bot will just try and get you banned for taking "their" area.

 

That doesn't work, because eventually one will catch up with the other since the guy in front is getting the nodes and the bot thats behind will have much less nodes to stop at.
Best thing to do is what Zomg said.

-Create your own profile with a different route
-Reverse the route
-Change zone

I have sent him an in game mail asking him to turn off the aura when herbing. And if he had further questions to contact me via in game so we can take it off line. I have taken 5 min breaks from here to there and as previously stated he ends up on top of me. I have even gone as far as to not bot while he is on in an attempt to be more accommodating.
No I dont want to report him it was merely a gut reaction in my first post... my intention was not to start a rage war. Please refrain from the holier than thou "dont report a fellow botter" as if you/me actually have any scruples with this game.......
And no I wouldn't be in his shoes, so lets not even discuss if the roles were reversed.

 

that's how it should be, but all too often people want to feel superior and report anyone that may even look like they are botting.

 

But this is the problem.. Its a gut reaction and some people follow through with it..

 

There was no "holier than thou" intended in my post; purely an opinion that I don't find it necessary to report somebody doing exactly the same as I.

Feel free to take the comment however you wish though.

The reverse waypoints idea above is also a good one as you'll both effectively be randomising who gets nodes first. Even if he would potentially cover more ground than you with his aura on and thus get more nodes than you, some is better than none.
