Bought Account - am I safe?

Hi,
I just bought a new account on ebay (with 2 lvl 80 toons).

Then I purchased a brandnew WoW, registered it to his surename but another name, and transferred the toons there.
Am I safe now or can he somehow get his toons back, if he wants to? Because they aren't anymore on his account!

 

You made a huge mistake when you transfered them, that flags you with blizzard for account buy/sell, and it should be perma banned in the next day or so.

 

why? how should blizz find out if it is really a account buy

 

How should they know that I'm another person.
I didn't transfer yet, but I seem this is the only way to assure that my toon is safe and can't be "retaken" by the previous owner.

 

Not a huge mistake to transfer them :O why does blizzard have that option then? to flag you for buy/sell accounts? get on the road.

It seems likely that if you moved the toons to a new acct, that the original owner couldnt get those toons back, unless he tried to get blizz to recover a "hacked" account. Why did you buy the acct anyway? to farm faster? IMO its safer to just lvl a new toon yourself. If I were you, I'd just use the account as is, change the email address (make a new gmail one)

 

add a authenticator to the account

 

Don't make fuzz about something where there is no fuzz to make about.

 

Getting an account back is MUCH harder than most people think it is. I've lost the password to my own account a couple times and spent several hours on the phone with Blizz giving them all kinds of information.

First name, last name, moms name, name on account, maiden name, secret question, CD key, BC/WOTLK CD key, and so many other things. This one time I had to get an authenticator removed when I lost it... That was a pain in the ass times ten.

I don't think he'll be able to take it back if you put an authenticator on the new account. In order to remove an authenticator you have to have two codes from it within 2 minutes. If he isn't right next to you he will have an awesome time spending the next two days on the phone with blizz.

 

indeed, its totall nonsense.

It makes sure you are safe from having problems with your chars or them being retrieved.

 

as said above its quite hard to actually get an account back.

spent over 3 months trying to get on back from blizzard, who when i did get it back had my character xfered off, and blizzard would not xfer the character back.

another tip;

get the account you've transfered the characters off perm banned asap.

 

Recommend adding an authenticator to the accounts in question ( you can put more then one account on the same authenticator).. and also play the new accounts by hand for awhile... you should be fine but the history of the other account that you bought is another story... Good luck.. report back if anything happens

 

just a note on the adding a Authenticator mate at work had his account hacked and they added a Authenticator to the account so he couldnt get it back as long as you have access to the origanal email account it takes about 10 mins to get the account back and the authenticator removed and it took about 30mins longer to get the gear back for his toons too.

Time line

Friday am: his account was hacked and authenticator was added
1hr later gear deleted/sold gold xfered
2hrs later account was banned for Gold Spammimg
saterday: he finds out accounts gone and contacts GM from my account he's told to phone account admin on monday
Monday: 10mins on phone and accounts back he orders a authenticator of his own and 30mins later GM restores all his gear

so realy as long as the guy still has access to the email account he started the account with he can get the toons back nomatter what you do with them

 

Blizzard can be fucking useless..

My mate had his legit account stolen (keylogged at a cafe imho) .. blizzard wouldnt give him account back since he didnt still have the orig cd key (he had bouth the game when it first came out and they keys were long gone) even thou he had all the right addy/secret question/everything else

He spent DAYS/WEEKS trying to get throu to someone at blizzard... .and its not free calling so yay for calling from New Zealand/Australia and holding for a few hours..

he just gave up in the end :/ and the person who stole it got away with it (hes still on my friends list and the person uses the acc all the time ffs)

 

I'd love to help you there. I've been wanting some throw-away accounts for gold sale and services Trade /spam.

 

The original owner can get any account registered on his name back within 2-3 business days as long as he sends Blizzard a copy of his ID. So this includes your freshly made account. Don't waste your money on transfers, as a matter of fact, don't waste your money on accounts either... You are on a botting forum for crying out loud, are you seriously TOO lazy to press 2 buttons?

 

Get the bought account banned azap indeed. Thats the only way to make it safe(r).

 

It all depends on the type of person you bought it off of. You can get an account back quite easily, with or without without a battle.net authenticator. I have retrieved my account many times, even when it has been taken and then been banned. You can get back characters that has been transferred off of the account anyway, as this happened to me.
