[Horde] Questing Northerend (68-80) HB2 Questing Beta3

Hi!

This is a really experimental questing profile for Horde, leveling from 68-80.

Mind you, this is not perfect! I'm currently leveling on this profile and still needs alot of testing. I'd recommend you bot-sit this trough, at least in the curent stage.

Please report quests that the bot can't complete (except the ones that are automatically blacklisted by HB2) and blackspots! (In the proper format, please, by hitting the "my location" button in HB2)

This profile is based on Bossland's 68-80 profile.

This profile will mail all White (except the protected ones) items and above to a mail alt. This will sell ALL grey items to the vendors.

Starting location is Borean Tundra - Warsong Hold. (It's possible to start it in Howling Fjord, too, but there are way too few quests there .

Even though this *should* be a 68-80 profile, I actually recommend starting it at level 69, because it will have a lot more quests available that HB2 knows how to do. Unfortunatelly Northerend (be it Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra starting area) has a lot of quests that require usage of certain items and it's pretty hard to make a stable profile with the current state of HB2.

edit: added the protected quest items for northerend. copy/paste the contents to ProtectedItems.xml

I am not supporting this profile. This profile is obsolete. Untill HB gets the ability to use items for quest completition it will not be worked on anymore.

Thanks for the profile, very much appreciated! I had to add a blackspot where all the rhinos are north of Warsong Hold and below Amber Ledge cause my toon aggroed one rhino and like 3 would follow that add, and I kept dying, that and there's a 72 elite around that area, Ned, Lord of the Rhino's or whatever. Other than that working good so far! (I also used your 58-70 profile on the same toon, a DK, thanks for your contributions sir)

or I guess you could just blacklist Ned if you can handle the 3-4 mobs at a time that the rhinos bring (although I didn't go this route):

Dunno if it'll work for everyone else but it seemed to work for me, although I am a complete noob at profile making (my 58-70 I was working on was lol) so it could have been luck. And yeah, that profile you made for 58-70 is nice, used it from like 59-64, grinded some Mag'har rep for like 2 levels until exalted, then used it for 67-68, and here I am at level 69 .

I also found that my toon tries to do the quest Escaping the Mist, which is an escort quest (which, correct me if i'm wrong, HB can't do right now), so I blacklisted the quest giver:

Also my dude got stuck on trying to turn in Horn of the Ancient Mariner, because it kept selecting the quest Burn in Effigy instead, dunno if that's a profile issue or a HB issue (my guess is HB). I see you probably put a lot of time into this profile, thanks again!

edit: Quest Orabus the Helmsman is a quest where you have to use an item to summon a mob to kill, and HB attempts to complete it only to run to the location of the quest and not do anything. Added

Thanks. I'll add the blackspot, quest blacklist and the avoidmob to the profile, but I will not add the escort and the npc, as that could still be fixed in HB in the next releases.

Strange bug I noticed today

My DK went to the vendor at Amber's ledge and then for some reason walked all the way to Tainkale Village in the Borean Tundra to mail stuff and wouldn't mount just walked heh then mounted up and went all the way back to Ambers ledge to turn in a quest.

 

i found my 73 swimming into the ocean with this in the log a few 100s times.

I've noticed that hotspot issue in Dragonblight a few times with other profiles (and other zones). So far I believe it's a HB2 related bug.

Quest Learning to Communicate : My DK just sits on top of the water and spins around in circles and quest Winterfin Commerce : Toon is going to the wrong place to try to get the clams

Unfortunatelly this profile is not going to well in the current state of HB2. I'm noticing that most of the time it doesn't know how to do most of the quests... Will probably continue development after the next HB2 release.

 

Znuffie, do you know offhand when the next release will be? roughly? It's a shame it keeps forgetting what it wants to do otherwise it's very solid.

With update's to HB2 the routine has been every week (if released on monday the following monday there would be a update) but the last update was last saturday and there is no update for today so im expecting a major fix for questing and nice NEW features i hope. (*/crosses fingers*)

Also Hawker has no stated on the next release so it could be anytime but i wish for them to take the time so everything is in working order xD

 

Well, I hope the next release can handle alot more quest types, or we're kind of stuck in Northerend grinding. Too complex stuff

 

At what lvl should it go to a different zone. im at l75 and almost all quests turns to green
