Before the latest release, this would be nigh-impossible, but now that you can give the bot specific quests to do - I'm wondering if anyone is in the process of working on a profile that mimics the Zygor quests from 1-80? This is not a request, just a "I'm curious if" type of thing. I'm sure there are quests in there that the bot can't do, and for those, I'm sure it'll require skipping those and grinding for a few, but still worth it, I'm thinking.
not right now, but i imagine the devs could do it if they wanted to. Should be just a matter of giving the quests priorities. Would also be nice to add area's in the profile to look for quests to pick up. I believe it doesn't do that now.
It should be somewhat possible with the new release using a "Forcedlist". However, the current iteration will also pick up quests that are not on the forcedlist, it just won't complete them. This requires the user to clear their quest log manually. I think this will be changed in a future release, making a Zygor-style 1-80 quest forcedlist theoretically possible
In thery it is possibile. Though it will not be compleatly as it says. You will be able to force it to do quests in the order you want. Though the travel time you will not be able to force from what I have seen so far. But it will take allot of work in writing the profile, with allot of extra coding involved with allot more subprofiles per few quests. <
Only thing is if I read correctly is that you cannot do some types of quests right now like ones where you have to fill up a container or something like that and those are in Zygor. And I notice with Zygor you cannot skip a quest it will always come back and make you do it.
It also calls for setting hearth, jumping to a different contenent and so forth. It has you do the cloth turn ins and so forth. So yes you can get it close to it but not fully.
I was looking through there guide, but the questing part of the bot really isn't ready for any serious profiles like this; profiles being made now rely very heavily on grinding out most of the level while completing a few quests (although there are obviously exceptions). We need total control over hotspots and order of quest completed, the order they are picked up and completed.
Zygor's guide takes you all over Azeroth. The bot isn't designed to use portals/trams/zeppelins/anything atm. and therefore it is currently impossible. I'm though however trying to make a places in my questprofile after the Zygor guides.
Fair enough. Perhaps, instead of creating a single 1-80 profile, it would require multiple, smaller profiles that would require you to position the bot somewhere before kicking it off. That's not too dissimilar from what you currently have, ya know? Just break down the guide into bite-sized chunks, listing a start and finish point. Also, once it completed the last quest, it would just grind the area awaiting you to stop, change profiles, and reposition the bot. To address some earlier points - Sure, some things that Zygor's lists in the guide are impossible for the bot to do, in its current incarnation, but the real question is: Why do we care? Yes, it won't be completely autonomous from 1-80, but what profile is? You may just have to intervene more often (negligible) but I think the results (i.e. speed of questing) would make it more than a worthwhile sacrifice. When I have time, I'm going to dig up Zygor's guide (if I can find it) and look into some of the better profiles, to see if I can bring the two together, without stepping on anyone's toes.
You have a good and valid point. However, Zygor guides switches places quite often and people would have to change profiles almost after every 2nd/3rd level between lvl 30-50.
Zygor's Guide is the worst questing guide in the market. For anyone to make a profile for it they would be completly wasting their time. A perfect example of how bad it is, it forces blood elves to go to the barrens at level 13, instead of ghostlands. Bad enough, all 13's should go to ghostlands. IT makes you do insane grind quests, like the raptor heads. (The quest with 5 raptors spread out like 500 yards.) You better pirate that guide, or donate that $50 to a charity, it's a complete money sink.
more people are making zygor profiles just a matter of time for it to be released and when more options are avail.
Is there a leveling guide you *would* recommend, if not Zygor's ? Once beta 4 of HB is released, I'm going to take another crack at making a profile that isn't already represented.
Why is everyone so hellbent on doing questing by a guide? ffs, there's just a handful of quests per hub.. just let it do those and move on, it can never be as optimized as if played by hand. Why go through all that trouble when you just could've plotted out some questhub hotspots, hit start and put on a movie or sumtin? I thought a bot was meant to free up time for you, not bind you to your comp...
