Just curious.. trying to figure out if it was just bad luck or what because I was banned a few hours after botting three of the "unmerged" SoR accounts. I suppose I could have used the VMWare option or tunneled but I didn't think they would be on it that fast. Given the fact that SoR accounts are so cheap, I was considering force-changing my IP and giving it another go however I don't want to if no one else has had success with this.
Currently quest-boting 6 SoR account now. two of them has been leveling up herb mining with PB for 10 hours straight ++ No issues so far. (after 3 days or so)
I just recently got back into WoW and picked up a unmerged account, merged it to my BNet account and then did a SoR on it. Do these accounts have higher ban rates? I'm ONLY questing him to 85. I've joined a guild and have been baby-sitting and talking at the same time.
Quote from one of the many SoR sellers BTW: WHat kind of ban did your sor account get? Was in insta 3rd party ban? or appeal-able abuse of economy = 72 hr ban?
The ban I received was "abuse of economy - selling gold for real world currency" however, I didn't even have the accounts long enough to do that. I was questing mine (each got to about level 82) before receiving the ban after a few hours. I found the SoR unmerged account to be the most economical way of getting back into WoW but it seems that may not of been the best idea. I submitted an appeal yesterday and recently got a response and blizzard is requesting photo id and proof of ownership of the accounts. I'm not sure what will happen after I submit the ownership documentation considering that if they are comparing the battle.net account information to the registration of the WoW account information, obviously they will be different. I should get a response sometime tomorrow hopefully and I will update how it turns out then. =/
Were you AFK botting? I just bought a SoR account to get back in to WoW aswell. I have ONLY been quest botting -- I joined an EXTREMELY active guild and have been chatting most of the time. What was your scenario?
No, wasn't afk botting. I made the accounts and started the questing immediately thereafter. I did join a popular guild and also was talking frequently. Judging by blizzards response, they are seeing if my accounts are really mine.. but I will find out soon enough.
I am botting 13 SoR accounts in total 2 SoR's are merged onto same bnet 3 SoR's are merged onto another. then i got all the rest on separate Bnet's. Everything runs from same ip + pc , usually 6 at a time All bots have done their pvp'ing, they level quested. 2 of them have professions max'ed the others will do in 1-2 weeks.( So it doesnt look like u rush to make em money makers ) i did 5man runs with 5 bots at the same time to do some guild challenges and get them ach. 2 of the bots are 7hours/day herb-mine farming (Uldum / Hyjal). THey have lvl1 bank alts in which they send their goodies for AH sell. If the materials are 2 many i store them in gbank and i never overflood market. Running 1 1/2 month now.
I had both of my unmerged SOR accounts banned yesterday (6 days) at the same time. Since Blizzard has that sale ($25 to get all the way up to Cata) I bought two new accounts with RAF. Once the starter status goes away I am going to use my Main power level them through instances until lvl 80.
I have been running a SoR paladin leveled with archaeology and full pvp botted with herb/mining for like 2 weeks straight, only having downtime on maintenance I'm running hidemyass v.pn just to be safer and using ARelog for disconnects. I have made 4 tabs full of ink from twilight jasmine
Figured I'd update this, finally heard back from blizz. They said the merged accounts information doesn't match the battle.net account so there is nothing they can do. On the bright side, blizzard store has all games thru cata for a total of $20. That's quite a savings so might as well give it a try lol. Good luck to you that have SoR accounts... if you get flagged, you're done. =/
