Hello everyone!

This is a quick profile that I put together using pieces of many of the other wonderful Sholazar Basin profiles on this forum (big thanks to jon310, syn3, and bossland's profiles, mainly). It has vendor, repair, mailbox, avoidmobs, protected items, and forcemail. Be sure to edit the xml so that it has your desired mail/vendor settings.

Basically, once I hit level 77 on my paladin, I kept running into problems with all of the other profiles where he would get stuck and/or have line of sight issues, and he was only making about 80K XP an hour in the best case scenarios. As such, I went and started from scratch with the hotspots and just made a really focused area near the Avatar of Freya. Now I'm making around 200K XP per hour, and I'm not even rested!!!

There's a shallow stream there at Freya where endless Bonescythe Ravagers spawn, and there's also a nearby open field that also has tons of them just running around. I have hotspots all over the field so he will run around and pick up multiple mobs a lot of the time (faster XP!). When he has the field cleared, I have hotspots in the stream next to Freya. You might want to just start your bot off there in the stream, though.

Warning: Mobs in the stream near Freya have a very fast respawn time and you will often be fighting as many as 3 or 4 at a time. You will *not* have time to rest or even loot the corpses (unless you have the instant loot plugin). You will have to be able to both heal yourself *and* give yourself mana. The only class I know of that can easily handle this type of non-stop action is a paladin using judgements and seals of wisdom (the class I'm using), but there are probably other classes and setups that I don't know about which can handle it as well. Just something to be aware of. Give it a try and see how it works for you.

I have a collection of blackspots which I got from a number of the other sholazar profiles on here. The trek back to the repair spot is pretty long, so I figure the blackspots might help protect you in case your bot wanders a bit. I also added a number of blackspots to form a virtual "fence" which helps keep the bot from going into the trees and village area near The Maker's Overlook (where I was getting stuck and having a lot of Line-of-Sight issues).

Note: Depending on your class and your gear, you may be able to start using this profile at level 75 or 76 instead of 77. I have personally used it to level two different paladins all the way from 76 to 80 (in almost all green gear), so it can definitely be done!

Edit: It appears that this area is actually neutral and the profile can be used by both Horde and Alliance. Please let me know if you are Horde and run into any issues with it, though. I've only had a chance to run Alliance bots on it so far.

77 (just dinged 78 on this profile) ret paladin grinding non stop on these bonescythe ravagers, getting 250k exp per hour, no rested, no heirloom stuff. Awesome spot. It doesnt have time to loot most of the time though, but the mobs drop a lot of frostweave, and silver, so im sure it will be very profitable.

 

I think this profile has great potential however I've been experiencing problems in the same section of this profile on multiple attempts due to the LoS issues HB 1.92 is currently having. My toon wonders to the right where the lifeblood elementals and the cave are and stays there trying to target mobs through walls until it disconnects or WoW crashes.

Can't wait until those problems are sorted out so I can give this another shot.

 

Hello dawk, I went and added the lifeblood elementals to the avoidmobs section and I also created a blackspot there at the cave. Can you re-download the new version (1.1) and let me know how it works out for you?

 

Thanks! I'll give it a shot now and report back later this evening. I'm fighting a nasty flu atm so I have a feeling I'll be up a few times through the night to check on my toon. I'll report any issues I have then.

EDIT: The bot now loops around the pond behind freya and gets stuck in the water. I think the profile is great but I'm giving up until the LoS issues with HB 1.92 are fixed as I can't run any of my toons unattended anymore. I'll be happy to leave feedback then.

 

You might try starting your toon in the actual stream in front of Freya (instead of having your toon wander there eventually). The respawn time on the mobs is so fast there that my paladin practically never left because he always had something to kill. I have now leveled two different paladins from 76 all the way to 80 with this profile and with HB 1.92. Keeping the bot in the stream really helps cut down on Line-of-Sight issues.

Lol! I saw a death knight grinding there the other day, so I just put my bot on the other end of the stream. Seemed to be enough mobs for everyone, but I dunno. Maybe your level 80 nemesis is just too good at cleaning house.

 

would it be possible to create a horde version of this? how would i go about changing the necesary info? it seems like an amazing spot to level, can anyone link me a thread with how to gather npc/mailbox info

 

I don't think you have to change anything for it to work with the horde, this is pretty much a neutral area isn't it?

This is probaby one of the top 3 botted spots in all of wow. At least on my server it is...

 

think shamans can do it too .... but the not looting thing sucks ... there was also a profile at this spot on the old forum ... but i thought without looting .. this sucks ... i tried also raf with two palas ... still no loot *

Yeah, I submitted a feature request for an option for more aggressive looting (looting while still in combat), which would lower DPS a little bit, but would ensure that you weren't sitting in piles of sparking corpses for an hour straight. I hope they implement it.

Actually - i was a bit hard and wanted to try out how good this profile is.
I leveled my Paladin from 77 to 80 in no time here. Worked perfectly.
Now I'm trying a Druid from 74(!) to 80 here. It works
