So today, I received my nice new Razer naga epic mouse! I log in and bam I'm banned!!!
I sold 40k gold to a buyer in china is why I believe I was banned. He said I should transfer the gold to a level 1 and meet in the orc starting area where I transferred it to another level 1! ( I know not very smart I got a little careless lol)

I also posted in trade that I wanted to trade gold for timecard's or money which I have done numerous times in the past without issue as many other people do it too.
Someone jokingly said "reported" and I'm not sure if anyone else decided to report me since its a fairly small server.

I have sold gold previously to guildies and friends and never had an issue. Its how I have paid for the game every month. I'd rather spend $15 a month at the strip club then on wow lol

In the email it says Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

What are the odds of me getting my account back since this is a first time offense?
Do they really have solid evidence that I sold gold to someone in china? Or did someone just report me and my account was flagged?
I talked about selling gold to someone a few minutes before that though, gave him my paypal since he only wanted to buy $5 worth. but his account wouldn't let him.
I never talked to the guy I traded to either. All they can see is that I posted in trade I wanted to trade gold and talked to someone about it but never went through with it. And that I transferred 40k to a lvl and traded to another lvl 1 with an ip probably in china. lol

I talked to the seller through skype and that's it.

If they have logs from previous months they can see I sold gold though...

What do you guys think? Am I screwed?
I botted the shit out of that account lmao
6 85's full pvp cata gear. 5 maxed professions countless gold and Stuff I farmed up so I don't want to just give up on it yet being my first offense lol
I wouldn't mind a temp ban at this point :) wanna use my new mouse lol

-Update-The account was reopened! no temp ban or anything!

Believe me when I say they have been watching you for a while! Chances of getting your account back = zilch! I have lost several accounts over the last 7 years of botting wow and have tried every trick in the book to get them back...to no avail. But, I never bot my Main account so I still have all my favorite toons :) My advice, don't waste your time trying to get your account back. Purchase the original wow and start botting from there, once you reach lvl 58 purchase the expansion, and so on until you reach lvl 85-90! It's what I do now. After I lost my first botting account I went out and purchased WoW with all of the expansions....I got banned a week later! That taught me to only buy one section at a time until I reach the necessary level for the next expansion! lol...anyway, congrats on your first ban!

Have to disagree with Skrot... I've had a few Perma bans, still have both my accounts.
Call Blizz and when you get them on the phone, be VERY polite, and play dumb.
Tell them you haven't been on in a week or XXX and that you think your account might
have been hacked. Since this was the first time you've been banned, they'll most likely
      restore it.
My son was running the questing bot quite a while ago, his hunter got stuck and kept
trying to cast something, don't recall what... that went on for 7 hours. He got banned and
      got his account back.
You won't know until you try. The worst (losing your account) has already happened... can only
      get better from here.

Yeah there is a high chance you were being tracked for a while before the ban came into effect so you'd be luckier than a lottery winner to get that account back.
Remember to trade using proper methods and keep gold trades out of trade chat, also never bot what you don't want to lose.

Are you serious? 90% of people writing in a proper way is getting their ban changed to 72 hours. Yes, there is always chance to get your acc back.

I fully agree! I got perm banned 2x now (1st time with pirox-bot some time ago), wrote very polite emails, played dumb, told them a story that I am unemployed and spending a lot of time in wow gathering herbs/ore, etc. ... they changed it to 72hour both times .... once you are perm banned it can only get better!

Yeah from what I have read so far, it sounds like you have to talk to the right GM. Some people don't get their accounts back and some do. It doesn't hurt to try to get my account back atleast, Thank guys I sent an email basically saying I did nothing wrong in my eyes and they are only losing another loyal subscriber like the other 1.1 million and counting lol we shall see how that goes.

If that doesn't work I will try calling to speak with someone else.
or ask for a senior GM.

If none of that works I will just buy a used account of Craigslist for extremely cheap lol

Lesson learned though that is for sure! Won't be selling on a main account anymore haha

Alot of people is saying dont bot on your main account, I dont know about that. I have a friend who is botting almost 24/7, every day a week and is selling alot of the herbs etc. Also he is trading gold for d3 and he has never been bann.
I think it's because he is playing arena, raiding and achievements.

That is pretty much what I do I was a bit skeptical about the bot at first as you are naive and do not really know the community here that well, I rang up blizzard while I was running the bot and said I may be hacked, they did heaps of investigations and not once did they discover the bot which was strange did they even try? but when something does go wrong now I will refer a GM to that call:) They mainly just go by players reports it seems, your only a problem when, every body that reports you becomes their problem.

I was botting on this account almost everyday. not 24/7 but more like 20/7 farming herbs that I already had buyers for. I was making 30k a day doing almost nothing. I could have made alot more If I played the auction house and had more time but It was just easier to Dump my load as soon as I got it in bulk.

I had a lot of achievements titles, and full pvp gear on all my 85's thats all I did was arena and bg when I wasn't botting.
Botting is fine on your main account as long as you are not over doing and things go as planned (bot doesn't get stuck and you get reported)
I have a buddy who bots 24/7 on his main account no joke, he posts hundreds of stacks on the AH everyday and he has never been banned.
I know alot of people who buy gold from sellers and they never get banned at all either.

I think I just made a mistake of transferring gold to a low level toon and then to another low level in another country. There are safer ways to sell/buy gold like through a guild bank on an alt toon. But I got careless and did things the easy way. Lesson learned!

If this is your first ban on that account you can easily get it overturned into a 72 hour suspension. I've done it a dozen times. Email them and act like you have no idea what you did wrong. Tell them you traded gold to your friend and are not sure why you were banned.

The account has been reopened! Basically all I did was write a very intelligent argumentative Support ticket. Saying that I sold some gold to guildies and friends (which I did) In order to pay for MOP. I told them it was pretty ridiculous that they would ban a long time fan and loyal customer, instead of the people who buy/sell the gold cashing out on what Blizzard does not (They could have a RMAH or sell their own services like game time with WoW gold). I told them thousands of people buy and sell gold/items/services and blizzard is missing out on a huge chunk of that. I told them I was outraged that I was banned for such a primitive reason lol. I said it sucks they are just losing another subscriber to add to the list of millions they have lost this year! I was expecting to get a "We dont care" email back but I received "After a thorough review of the circumstances involved in this action, the account has been reopened and access restored" instead!

pretty stoked :) now I must be careful as I am sure they are watching me like a hawk lol. Time to buy a second account!

From my understanding there mostly going after multi botters and massive gold sellers. I've gotten my account back from telling them I was giving a friend gold in exchange for the booze he got me at the bar since I was strapped for cash. And it worked. But I really was paying him back for that.

lol yes I admitted to trading gold, but I told them it was stupid that they would ban me for this reason! Seemed to have worked!
But yeah it would make more sense to go after the guys making a ton off selling gold and huge multibotters who ruin the market completely on a server. That seems like a good excuse as long as both your IP's are pretty close I would think. They can't argue with you giving your friend gold lol
