Hey guys, one of my farming accounts was banned a few days ago after I traded somebody gold for WoW time. I did not know this was a bannable offense as usually Blizzard just gives you a warning and lets you off the hook. I opened a ticket, and they pretty much responded they didn't care and reviewed the case and my account is going to stay banned....Do you guys have any suggestions how I can get this account back? This really pisses me off The only thing I can think of, is just call the hotline number and show them how upset this makes me. EVERYBODY I know only got a suspension or they unlocked their account. Why do I get the ban??
Your out of luck, you got a mad GM. I got one on my farm account, wouldnt over turn it. Sad thing is that he was my GM >.<
you werent banned for buying raf time, you were banned for trading the gold. Most of the raf sellers ive seen are middlemen and when your "trading gold to them" your actually giving it to the chinese sellers directly so raf people have no contact with them in game.
I never traded gold with this account EVER....I simply put the RAF time I bought with a different account's gold.
Weird stuff. Never happened to me. The only thing i have encountered was that the gametime got removed. Never received an e-mail or anything about it.
so basically I got banned for no reason...I didn't even get banned for botting lol...and I have no clue how to get my account back. This is the dumbest account ban ever
Don't let these people tell you otherwise: I believe buying RAF time is a GREAT way to get banned. Here is my story. 5 Scroll of Res accounts. Activated 10ish days ago. Botted all 5 for almost the exact same amount of time each day, every day, 18 hours a day, in instances (no contact with outside world, to avoid player reports if you will). all 5 bought time. Time was applied at the same time, about 5 days ago. Last night, 3, within 2 minutes of each other, banned. My account setup was 4 on 1 realm 1 on a random realm. Here is how I KNOW RAF time got me banned. The order the seller applied the codes was: 1 [realm 1] 2 [realm 1] 3 [realm 1] 4 [realm 1] 5 [realm 2] The order I got banned 3 [realm 1] 4 [realm 1] 5 [realm 2] I think the issue here is this: If you buy RAF time you will not DEFINITELY get banned, but if, a GM looks into your accounts because they are suspicious, (there is a blue post talking about they know mostly botters buy this time) and notice SUSPICIOUS activity, and he is having a bad day, you are getting banned. The problem is the credit card which was stolen to buy those game cards which the RAF seller adds to a recruited account so you get gametime, naturally link you to every other account that has a gametime code on it from that stolen card, so it would get investigated at the same time. The fact that every single one of my 5 accounts were merged into bnets (all on their own with their own names, emails, etc), activated, SOR'd, leveled, and botted, at the same time, same pace, everything the same. Never traded with each other, never sold more than 10 items on the account house, never sold gold, did nothing at all, tells me the only link with them and not with the other 2 is the gametime codes that are used in the RAF process. I bet you, a GM investigated the 1 stolen credit card that bought all 3 of those codes, and then looked at my newly made SOR accounts, noticed an excessive amount of boss kills in 1 dungeon and said "oh ill be damned, this is a botter, banned!..." I completely know the reason I was banned was because I was noticed, and they seen how much I was running a dungeon, but still, if I had not been noticed (not bought RAF time) and just went about my business, I bet I would have those accounts today. I say it is luck of the draw if you get banned from RAF time, but it is most definitely possible, not because they are banning you for DOING IT, but they are banning you for the fact that they NOTICE you are botting when they look into your account. If you like the idea of your bot accounts getting noticed more, sure, buy RAF time. Note to self: Don't buy RAF time or do a damn good job of making my accounts like like real people, which doesn't include 18 hours of the same thing every day. If you read all this, God bless you, I am not short-winded. If you think im wrong, tell me why, and let us hope you are not one of the RAF time sellers that has an interest to protect, ones that way "oh no, no way you will get banned". Edit 1: What did the account closure notice state for a reason?
I agree with you completely...I think the option I have at this point is to call Blizzard up tomorrow and tell them how I feel about the situation, and try to get a 72hr suspension, but if that fails...fuck it. I will never buy RAF time ingame every again...
Yah, one of my tickets said "we aren't changing it", the other said "please submit ID verification" and the other said "the 72 hour suspension will remain active".... problem is they said it was CLOSED not suspended, so I assume the GM didn't read correctly, or maybe I really got a 72 hour, lets hope so... I am not going to contest it till AFTER the 72 hours in hopes that by not asking questions, I didn't get perm banned. I sure hope I get at least 1 back, but 300 boss kills in 1 week, not good. /fail on my part, and bigger fail for not trying out RAF on 1 account and going from there.
The weird thing is, I bought 2 months from the same guy...I applied one month to the account that got banned and the other month to my account that I have insane gear on, and raid with in a big top guild. My raiding account never got touched.
I'd say that is because they take this more seriously when it's being done by botters who they already dislike. You'd most likely get a temp ban or warning since they see your raiding account is a real one. Im sure many people who say "bought raf time everything is fine" maybe put these on good accounts that look human. Then again I have 2 accounts which bought time, applied it, and have bottled almost 400 runs of 1 instance in the week. Somewhere in the 18 hours a day range so... (I bought the time with real money) and they are still going strong. I really think its by case if a GM cares, honestly. But again, I feel it is an extra risk I'll never take again. It really depends on what you value.
Ive been doing RAF game time for good 6 months now and not a ban yet, I would say you just got unlucky like the SoR Accounts getting banned.
Listen to avoid getting banned NEVER buy RAF game time with gold, Simply take the toon off the account when your time runs out with GOLD from your main account and leave it at that ive done it 10 times now, never once had anything banned.
