Heey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum to ask the following question but im gonna go for it anyway. I am from Denmark myself and got a good friend in the UK which has stopped playing WoW. I asked if i could use his Account for botting and he gave me premission to do so. Tho he said IF he wanted to come back to the game (im pretty sure he will sometime) and he was banned, due to my botting, he would make a ticket about him being hacked and he would most likely get his account back. My question is: Since i have been using he's account for botting and still playing on my main account, whilest being on the same IP, will that risk my Main account for getting a ban aswell, because they are trying to like trace where all the items or gold went? I hope this makes sense to you guys Sincerely a worried botter
No you wont. It's the same as multiple accounts on 1 bnet account. Only the ACCOUNT will be banned. They wont ban your grandmother for playing on the same IP adress for example.
Yeah that's what i thought. They cant accuse me for being the receiver of all the items/gold, since it might aswell have been my "grandmother" who did it?
Except if you are using the same computer - as you would have the same Hardware ID associated with both your main and your friends account thus risking your main account if he reports you for hacking his account.
Yes they can actually. My main account got banned like that. Hardly ever botted on it and watched it like a hawk when i did. When my farmer toon got banned they banned my main account because he "benefitted" from the bot account. This was because i'd send ALL the mats/gold to him from the bot account, a BIG NO NO. The way to go is launder it through a guild bank for safety incase the bot account gets banned. Also, about the hardware ID, you can get around that by running the bot in a virtual machine, via vmware or other programs.
What do you mean by this? Should i let my botting account post all gold/items in a Guild Bank and from there withdrawn all the gold/items from my Main or? A bit confused here Or could normal ingame trading from my bot to my main char work? Or is that just as traceable as mails. I got 2 chars on my botting account, so i was thinking about botting with one of the chars and post gold/items into the GB, withdraw them with the 2nd char on my botting account, and trade them to my Main account. Would that be worth? or just a waste of time.
Yes, that would be fine, post items to GB with your bot acct. and withdraw with legit account. Yes, ingame trading can just as easily be tracked by blizz. Farming on one toon and posting to AH with the other on the same account is fine. but Still don't trade from the 2nd toon on your botting acct. to your main acct. that links the accounts via "benefit". AKA blizz will possibly ban the main because it "benefited" from the botting account. Deposit in the guild bank, then withdraw with the legit acct. Make a lvl1 on the main acct then mail to your main toon, that's fine too. NOTE: this is just based on my personal experience as a botter and getting some accounts banned.
Thanks alot mate - May i ask if you use the same IP for your botting account and for your main/legit account?
Not usually. Sometimes i do, then other times i switch to a V P N in a foreign country. This makes it easy to say you were hacked and get the account back very easily. I do use a seperate computer for the bots tho. If you don't have a seperate computer at least use a virtual machine. VMWare workstation works well, and there are others. If you are interested in getting a V P N lemme know as i have a script to set it up automatically on a linux shell. they usually cost less than $5 a month. I think there are some free ones out there too, but i don't bother with those as the quality would generally be worse than if you got your own private one.
I'm not that good when it comes to Software. But a V P N is changing your IP to another place in the world right? Because i tried that already but that just closed my account saying "suspicious activity".. If there only are my botting char and legit char in the guild where the gold is being laundering through, wont that cause my legit char to be like number one suspect ?
Invite a friends alt to the guild. Just tell blizz that u invitet this dude (ur farmer) to the guild and u dont really know him, just that hes posting stuff into the guild, and u then take atvantage of that(if they start questioning u). How can that be a crime since u havent asked him to post it to the bank... Back when i had time to farm alot and sell gold i always used guild bank with farmers posting into and another vanilla to sell on AH. Didnt have any trouble with that even though i had my main acc alt in that guild. Dont know if it still works but it used to
If his friend is in a different country and gave him the account, if he stopped playing on it for a bit and then payments started again via prepaids/time cards and the IP bounced countries he could indeed pull it off. Who are you to say Blizzard doesn't do certain things anymore? Anything posted about Blizzard here is pretty much hearsay and there is no guarantee that you, or your past experiences, dictate the SOP of Blizzards internal affairs.
