How do I get the most profit from it?
      Prospecting it?
      Smelting it in to bars?
Or just selling them as ores?

If ore is not selling well you can use the ore shuffle which makes decent profit. however you must have max enchanting and jc.

Ore-> Prosepct-> Sell/Cut Rares -> Cut around 1/2 the uncommons -> Sell the perfect cuts/vendor the others -> Craft rings/neck with leftover uncommons -> DE -> Mix of sell enchanting mats/make enchants

Thats at least what i do when ore prices crash on my server. Every weekend the prices go from 50-60g a stack to 25-30g. I buy up a couple guild bank slots full and then do the suffle selling the mats during the week once prices rise on everything agian.

There is a lot of things you could do. If you don't have a whole lot of time, you can find a Buyer (C.O.D) That way you always have a buyer and don't have to mess with auctions, there's prospecting, it really can depend on the time you have. I farm while I sleep (6 hours a day or so) and I turn about 5k off it with a Buyer, and I work a full time job so I really don't play much so that's good for me.
