This is going to be a long post, but it will answer all your questions. Have patience! Intro Okay, so welcome to the scary and confusing world of botting. You're going to have lots of questions (as I have) and I'm going to answer all of the common sense questions I've had along the way that I couldn't find answers to anywhere else. I'm not saying they're not out there, and I did eventually find the answers... but I had to look! Let's face it, many botters are lazy and that's why they started botting! I'm sure some of my answers are wrong, but I'm hoping by posting this someone will correct them and we'll have a stronger community as a result. So without further ado, let's clear up some naming issues. HB = Honorbuddy, which one do I get? First of all, you see HB1 and Honorbuddy 1.9.5 to download and you don't know which one is the most up to date or which one is better... which one is safer, etc. The first thing you need to realize is that HB1 is the outdated Honorbuddy. Why is it still there? I'm guessing because people have certain setups that they don't want to lose by upgrading or they think HB version 1 is better for what they're doing currently. HB 1.9.5 is HB2. HB2 refers to the NEWEST HB (version 2). This is one you should download. I was very confused with this, as 1.9.5 /= 2! After talking to some people in chat they say that it'll be named HB2 when questing is completed. Q: Next up... how safe is HB? A: To my knowledge, you can't be banned by using the software alone currently. Don't worry about the technical aspect of it all... essentially you're safe for running the software. What this means though is that many people that see you acting suspiciously are going to report you due to jealousy/anger/retardation. When that happens, YOU CAN BE BANNED. This is not HB's fault, this is your fault for running a bad profile or having a bad setting. Q: Next, what is HB good for? A: I haven't used GB yet, but HB is good for getting xp by grinding or questing and PvPing... or a mix of those things. I know it sounds like a pvp bot, but it's everything all wrapped up in one! Q: Next up... how easy is it to run HB? A: Well, I came from WOWglider (now mmoglider) where I had to setup a few things before I could get going and where there were a billion profiles for everything. HB seems to have much fewer profiles that are all encompassing from 1-80. Essentially what I did was load a profile from their website and click start... it took a few minutes to download a mesh (which to my knowledge is just the world database as it exists) and then I was off and grinding. Q: My bot kinda sucks... it's not horrible but it's very inefficient, what can I do to improve things? A: I'm running a priest and was getting slaughtered/angered at the lack of ability of this priest. He was getting smoked, doing dumb things and refusing to wand. With no settings anywhere, I was confused as to how to improve. When this happens, head down to the custom classes section. Download a custom class that matches your class. Which one? Who cares! Read them and see which one you like. I'd be more inclined to go for one that has good reviews and a good rating than a random one, but people create new things all the time! Q: Okay, so I tried to download a CC but I've got all these errors now, OR my bot still looks and acts the same! A: You didn't download it correctly. For me, it took a little monkeying due to the confusing nature of doing something you haven't done before. The steps weren't laid out exactly how I wanted them to be, so lemme tell you exactly what you need: You're going to need a .dll file from the CC you're getting. That is going to go in your config folder in the custom class directory. The rest of the files go in a folder with the CC name ie (Khryses) in the custom class directory. NEXT, I was still getting errors so I deleted my HB class ePriest.cs file and that fixed everything. After that, you can click on the general settings tab in HB and click on the CC configuration button to configure things exactly how you like them. Congratz, you're all done. If you're still having problems post in the CC thread you got your CC from, personal message the creator or even head down to the chat room. The chat room won't always help you, and they're not responsible for support... but I found some good help there.
