I've been using HonorBuddy for about 2 weeks now, and it seems like when I AFK for more than an hour or so, I have about a 20% chance of still being online when coming back. Meaning 80% of the time the bot is no longer running after an extended AFK ( critical errors, disconnects.. i believe are somewhat related to antivirus but not sure). Now I know this is more me, and my settings than the bot... but does anyone have any tips for keeping a bot running smooth for an extended period of time ( 7-8 hours +)? Computer wise, software wise or anything inbetween?? I'm just tired of waking up in the morning hoping to have gained X levels or X amount of mats and seeing it had dc'd like 30 mins after I afk'd!!!!!!!! Thanks for any and all tips
I used to wake up to a dc when I was leveling, but never when gathering. I think most of the dcs is because of stuck somewhere. Download LogMeOut, a very good addon that can log you out after X hours, whispers, stucks, mobs killed .. and more. But for this, you can see why you logged out. So when you wake up you can check and see Logout Reason: stuck
Get a relogger, research your profiles (preferably make your own, test them extensively, so they are 100% bug free). Disable ALL WoW addons, run on lowest settings. Clear cache folder, fresh install honorbuddy, and setup to work with your relogger. This should improve your results by atleast 75%
Most people will tell you to download loads of addon's and plugins but really the best thing you can do is run the bot as light as possible with bare minimum additions. They can cause bugs and crashes. I would recommend one addon called Trashcan. It deletes crap out of your bags automagically.
