Sad sight to see (State of Profiles)

I was going to write a long ass reply about profile writing and how it's just not that difficult - but nevermind....

I realize I fall in the expert botter, computer science, CCIE group - so writing a profile for me is not a big deal, yes it absolutely COULD be easier, but complaining about FREE user submitted profiles is silly - the reality of it is while writing a profile is not hard for me, I acknowledge it may be for some but truthfully I'd prefer it stay that way because there will be far less dumb botters...

I would agree that it would be nice for the dev team to have a built in profile writer, at least for waypoints, as it stands now you have to manually cut and paste waypoints and faction IDs, I believe at one point there was a plugin that helped you do this?

your profiles rock. even the free ones. with your fools cap unlimited v2 profile i still clear 15k daily farming with it. i just wonder what i could make from a payed one.. keep up your awesome work bro cause ur profiles are epic.

 

I have a Dailies Profile setup over at The Complete MoP Dailies Experience. While it only covers maybe 50-60% of all dailies so far, I'm adding anywhere from 1-10 quests a day when I can. This is fun for me, and I love the feedback I get. I even started on the 5.1 stuff using the HB Beta to get coords, just to get started.

Oh, and it's free. Unless you want to buy me a mountain dew haha.

 

I always seem to have problems running down you "pay to play" guys. I really wish somebody would make an all inclusive post that shows the links to all the legitimate people selling profiles and routines. Would be great so i know where to go and spend my money

 

I guess I'm one of the bad guys because I sell my profiles I don't do offer a free very basic version of them to the public and they work.

But I look at it from a different perspective I'm selling people things I personally use for my farm and I don't want a bunch of people on the profiles to just kill the profile and have to make all new ones

Because let's face it HB point users are while players and 99% of all while players are morons don't believe me look in the band section that will prove it

Anyone says that they can't program up profile I'm sorry that you haven't actually tried

I personally make profiles for myself for just about everything. However, the daily quest profiles out there seem to work great. I've used two sets out there. (I don't remember the names) but one does Klaxxi, Golden Lotus, August Celestials, Shado Pan... then I switched it to the other and it does Tillers and Cloud Serpent. I don't really see "tons of crappy profiles" out there. Making a gathering profile is simple. Making a questing profile is a little more complicated (but there are a few authors who's profiles work flawlessly right now) -- another problem was the bot itself for a while, but that's another story. Grinding profiles are simple. Fishing profiles are simple. BG profiles are simple. I don't even know what I'd even pay for at this point.

I guess my point is that anyone can code these profiles if they spend 30 mins to learn it. Maybe a couple days to perfect it. Then 15-20 mins per profile for the easy ones like gathering, grinding, fishing, etc... and a little longer for questing and stuff.

Oh the nostalgia I get from reading this I had no idea Botanist was banned and there are some people in this thread I havent seen since it was posted. :/ I miss my buddies...
