Hello Buddy's i made alot of gold on farming minerals and so on. and yeah. i bought alittle gold too... but today when i logged on my account. i got a mail from blizzard. they told me that i had gold on my account that was stolden from another account. i dont understand that because i bought them from a gold selling service... but they told me that it was a warning and they have taken the gold from my account and gave it back to the original owner of the gold. and so on. i think... why dident they ban me for "buying" or "stealing" gold as they called it.. am i just really really lucky that i dident get banned or? please tell me if u tryed this too? or should i be carefull about what i do on my account atm.? are they checking me atm?
Why don't you just say "I'm glad that you got it back to the original owner, I was pretty confused when someone just randomly opened trade and put it (insert x gold here) in."
yeah this is either fake post, or a hacker knows your logins and you just got pawned Blizzard would never say: Hey man! thanks for buying gold! but it appears some of the gold you purchased was stolen from a persons account so we are going to have to take the stolen gold back so we can return it! have a nice day!
hey... well. if u know wow.. then u know that blizzard mails comes with a special blizzard picture. and i got that. it was an ingame mail. they sendt the same mail to my email. and it had blizzard mark's like.. u know the blizzard icon in the ingame mail. so i cant belive its a fake mail?
someone got password jacked... your fault. change email and passwords ASAP and run scans to find the keylogger....
well guys.. i had 40k on my account. i bought the 30k. they only removed 30k from my account. if i got hacked.. u dont think they would have taken it all?
i am 100% sure. that this was a real blizzard ingame mail. wasnt fake. it hard the blizzard icons and everything. they only took the gold i bought that day.
It is extremely easy to use the blizzard picture's and icons.....it is even extremely easy to make an email look like it came from blizzards official email address's , if it was blizzard you would be on a temp ban at least 72hours. Also the reason why the person left some gold on your account is because they were hoping you would believe it was blizzard, that way they can come back and take more gold later on when you have purchased more. i would be highly leaning towards the site you purchased gold from as the culprit.
thanks for your answers. i will change the mail and password right away. and check for keyloggers i asked because i gives no sence that i dident get a ban. but i dident know that it was possible to use the blizzard picture and icon in a ingame mail. thanks alot guys!
This was blizzard. I got the same email and in game mail back in lich king when I ninja looted a mount with no temp ban.
i got it for ninja looting too in cata.. but.. thats just ninja looting... now they say i bought gold or stealed gold. and they dident ban me? very wierd
Greetings, Account Name: WOW2 In light of some recent activity on your World of Warcraft account, we’d like make sure you’re aware of the negative impact that buying gold from third-party companies has on the World of Warcraft community -- as well as the potential consequences for players who are found to be using such services. Every day, we encounter players who have been victims of in-game scams or whose Battle.net accounts have been stolen, and who log in one day to find their characters’ inventories have been stripped of gold and other valuable items. The overwhelming majority of these scams and thefts are conducted by unethical third-party companies that sell stolen gold to other players for real money. Accounts of players who choose to buy gold and support these exploitive companies may be subject to a variety of account penalties, including the removal of purchased gold so it can be returned to the rightful character. Third-party gold-selling companies frequently prey upon dedicated players -- often including their own customers -- without regard to the disruption their actions cause to the game and other World of Warcraft players. Ultimately, without players’ support, these companies have no way to continue their unethical actions, and that’s why we encourage the community to refrain from using their services. Additional information on the negative impact of purchasing gold, as well as some important information on how you can protect your account from theft, can be found on our website at: Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft Thank you for helping us keep World of Warcraft a fun and safe environment for all of our players. Regards, Blizzard Entertainment http://www.blizzard.com/support That email came from a wowadmin@blizzard.com AND they sent an ingame mail with the Blizzard Customer Support icon on the mail. Those are legit emails. The reason you didnt get banned is the same reason I didn't get banned, they can't prove that you knew you were buying gold, but you hit a threshold and the gold you obtained was stolen. My reccomendation is, don't buy gold, its an easy way to get your account looked into, and if you are botting, no need for prying eyes AND if you do decide to purchase gold make sure you transact an item. If they see a level 1 toon trading thousands of gold to a high level toon and there is not a transacted item it will redflag.
i think i read somewhere that 10-15% of chinese gold sellers are hackers/phishers.. stop supporting those scum and find a pvt seller, they are always cheaper and safer.. btw ur acct is surely flagged now, expect a ban next wave
here! i got the mail. read it urself. tell me what u think: Greetings, Account Name: "i removed that" We are writing to notify you that a character on the above World of Warcraft account has received gold from another player known to be associated with exploitive activities, such as in-game scams or account theft. Account Action: Notification Gold Removed: 31500.00 Our policies on stolen virtual goods such as gold apply to any players who either knowingly or unknowingly received in-game currency or other items that were originally acquired through scams, account theft, or other fraudulent activities. MAIL RECIEVED FROM: WoWAccountReviewEU@blizzard.com <--------- see thats a mail i dont think the real blizzard will contact me on!! what do u think?
dont buy gold from those website, buy it from real ppl (lv 90 recommended). Those websites also steal gold from other people.
thanks. i dident know that and.. how to buy them from other level 90? should i not be scared that they would might just rip me off and when i pay then dont?
and yes it could be a scam.. but what if it wasnt? should i stop botting for a while ?? or should i not worry and just keep doing what i did before?
well.. i dont really think that i can report those gold selling sites for scamming my account. i think that would be like.. "HEY wow! i bought gold here. and now they scammed me! i dident do enything rong. but they hacked me! " lol xD
well, just saying, this is my theory. Blizzard is having hard times atm and they need to sell gold to make an extra buck So they are scamming people out of all their monies!
