Hey there, I've been checking here for a new version of Gatherbuddy (Not GB2) since the first major patch prior to the MoP release. As of right now, I have Gatherbuddy v1.7.7.5, which doesn't launch anymore post 5.0. I used to just go to Bot Downloads, and the newest version of GB would be posted on the right of my screen. Now all I see is Demonbuddy, Buddywing, Tankleader, etc. When I click on Gatherbuddy from the center menu, it says there are no files available. Was a new version of the original GB ever made or has the bot program been retired? I'd like to start creating some new profiles for the Pandaria zones. If there's no more GB1, is there a way to copy & paste my old profile waypoints from GB1 xml's to GB2 profiles? Also, is there some sort of guide on how to use GB2? I'm not familiar with its use at all. Last of all, are my purchased keys only used for GB1 or can my password be used with HB/GB2 as well. I appreciate any help that can be provided! Thanks, BB
Hi, BobBarker, The new Honorbuddy ships with a number of botbases--including Questing, Grinding, BG, and Gatherbuddy2. Its been this way or over a year. GB2 is not backward compatible with the old GB1 profiles, but there are plenty of GB2 profiles to be had in the forums. I'm certain you can find one to your liking. At one point, there was a tool that converted GB1 to GB2 profiles, but that tool has long been archived, and probably works no more. If you want to make your own, there are also tools in the forum that "write the profile out" as you fly the path you want. The new GB2 profile format strongly resembles the formats used for Questing or Grinding profiles,. There is no more "bad nodes" list--bad nodes are handled by blackspotting areas--same as for Questing. GB2 may temporarily mark a node as bad, that will last for a certain time (5-15mins, not sure). These dynamically added blacklisted nodes do not persist across starts of GB2. I believe you're good to go, just need to poke around in the forums a bit. cheers, chinajade
When using GB1, you should have been using your old shop and username to login. Since then, it should have been converted to a key, in which you can log into honorbuddy(GB2) You should be able to retrieve it by registering on Home Page - Buddy Auth Portal with the same email as your old shop username. I understand wanting to use GB1. It was truly a fantastic tool and brought my hope of botting back after Glider shut down. Unfortunately, times have change and it is no longer available. However, GB2 is far superior.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm a little sad to hear that GB standard is obsolete now ;( I liked the simplicity of it when it came to mining and gathering, but I'll be sure to try out HB and see if I can't get it up and running with some custom made profiles. Thanks for the assist! R/, BB
