Basically I am a very hands on HB user at times, and while I'm waiting for my queue to pop, I like to run around and quest. Problem is I use a different CC for running around and questing (dps) as I do for dungeons (heals). Is there a way to re-run the "choose your CC" popup that opens whenever you restart HB? Constantly restarting HB to switch CC's is a pain in the ass and it seems like it would be simple enough to change. I tried looking for a plugin that does this, but couldn't find anything. It wouldn't surprise me if there was an easy way and I just haven't realized it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Nope, you have to restart HB. Why do you need to change CC's? Its fast enough by just restarting it IMHO.
Simple, two completely different activities; healing instances, and questing/grinding. It would be great if I could quest/grind, and then when the queue pops, just hit a button. It's not like restarting is impossible, it would just be nice to not have to. Seems like it would be simple enough to do, just jump straight to the point where the CC is selected and reinitialize, etc.
Yeah, some CC's do have autmatic recognition of spec-changing when on a hybrid-class. Tuanha's Paladin-CC comes to mind, but generally this is rare.
It's about how the HB engine is a language compiler... you give it code it crunches it, understands it, learns it. Unless the code itself knows how to unlearn itself, the machine must die, before learning more. Oh, the sad fate of a compiler. /salute Blade Runner. wait what?
I think there used to be a CC that you could get to redo class recognition, but It has been so long I forgot what it was.
Most CC's can recongize new classes, they just can't load new code while running... start / stop won't help, just a full restart will do
Aye, it was a 'wrapper CC' written by Highvoltz or another one of the very smart and silent types. I don't recall the name, and I'm certain it won't work with the new HB refactoring. You'd have to do serious digging around in the Archives forum to find it. cheers, chinajade
Sure, but it would be simple to build "killing and restarting the machine" into the wrapper of the overall program, right? Closing and reopening the entire program just feels a bit inelegant. I really don't mind, and it's not that hard to just restart, I just figured I would ask in case there was a slightly more streamlined way.
check the Honorbuddy settings (the XML file) as there was a time where support was added for reloading plugins (and i believe CR's too) on file changes however this needs to be enabled by hand and who knows if it works correctly or not. the only way to know your getting a good refresh would be to completely restart honorbuddy.
