Okay, so you are basicly saying that its the same risk to bot on a second account on the same computer, than just botting on your main? but if i bot on a second computer or in a virtual machine i can bot just fine? (im playing EU server)

      Not true.

You will get a final warning by email and a 72 hour ban.

You can never be fine when botting.

This are just measures to minimize the chance to be banned.

You should never bot on your main account anyway.

I have a WoW account and a D3 (recent wave) under the same BNET ID that got have been banned. I still have 2 active wow accounts and soon another D3, though I might do the next D3 on my other BNET ID. My wife plays on the same IP/Credit Cards as I do, same last name on her BNET account. She has as of yet to get anything beyond a warning (my fault, and it was a long time ago when we could still communicate easily with horde) on her account. I still bot on both WoW accounts regularly. WoW Ban was from early Archeology days, I did LOTS of unsupervised Archy when it first came out I've tried a couple times to get it overturned. I figure I should dredge it up every 6-12 months if for no other reason than to take up their time! They ban based on account and current reason for banning.

I've heard lots of theories and they scan your computer crap over and over again. I'd go so far as to wager that most bannings from botting come down to our own stupidity in one form or another. Somebody knows or suspects and reports us. We bot to much for to long in one form or another. For example then recent D3, I ran the same profile way to much for way to long. 3-4 days a week, over 12 hours a day, low supervision rate, no change up. That sort of thing can be tracked easily. As a matter of fact, to dissuade the "they scanned your computer" folks out there. I was routinely running Demonbuddy & Honorbuddy for long periods and my WoW account hasn't gotten so much as a warning while the D3 got hit by the ban wave. Use common sense folks!

On a side note, I don't think they ban anybody they don't think will be back. I think ban waves come when they need to sell some keys for one reason or another. If you think about it, if they hit true botters who are selling gold and making cash on the game (now easier to track on D3 through RMAH, but still the best way to go) when they knock them out, they will be back. I believe it's a sham to appease the masses who don't realize (and don't want to admit) how much they've come to rely on botters for various things from gold to rare hard to find items or mundane tasks they don't want to farm themselves. Anybody ever heard the term welfare epics? It applies much the same to farming ore & herbs. There are a few who enjoy it, but at the end of the day most folks want to go to the AH and find it at a low price so they can buy what they want relatively cheap. If you use common sense though, chances are you'll avoid most if not all ban hammers as they come.
