I appealed this and got the decision reversed and account was restored...
 
I was banned at the same time, using the same profile for doing the exact same thing.. (Selling to private buyers, 8 hours a day)

What did you say in the appeal?
 
This is the ticket description:
I woke up to my account being banned. I have
been playing world of warcraft for 6 years and i have
been hacked multiple times. I have always followed
the rules in game and never ever had any email
come from blizzard except you guys thought i
bought gold one time and sent me an in game
message and a email. i am not using a cheat and
wouldnt even know how to cheat in wow. I think i
had a key logger or something and was hacked and
now i am banned. please please please reverse this
decision and you can record everything i do. all i
wanna do is raid and enjoy the game. The last
person on my account was my son which he plays
when i am not on or i am asleep. please please help
me fix this.

We will send you another email when a Customer
Service representative replies to your ticket, which
under normal conditions happens within 24 hours
(but please allow up to 2 days). Meanwhile, we
strongly suggest that you do not submit duplicate
tickets, as doing so will only lengthen your wait
time.
 
This is the latest response from Customer Support:
Recently, your account was actioned incorrectly
as a result of our efforts to protect the World of
Warcraft environment from exploitative behavior. As
part of these efforts, we recently closed some
accounts engaged in or associated with exploitative
activities including the use of third party programs.
While our goal is to protect our players from such
activities whenever possible, these closures were
not intended to affect accounts that were playing
the game legitimately.

Please note that access to this account been
restored and all actions removed. If your account
was previously reported as compromised and in
queue for an investigation, rest assured that this
has not interrupted that process.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience
this may have caused and encourage you to contact
us with any further questions or concerns you may
have. Thank you for your patience and
understanding.
